Magneto and Pain I could see, but thanos?

Thanos may be as booksmart as reed richards, but he lacks common sense. In the comics he was a simp. In the mcu, he had more resources than anyone else and wasted it all on destruction, instead of distributing it in some fair manner. Destroying 50% of the universe wouldn't be an even 50% everywhere and would cripple if not wipe out several societies and planets. The ones left in a good condition could easily re-populate anyways.

At least the comic thanos thought he was bagging death after the snap, mcu thanos had no idea wtf would happen. He was just so charismatic that nobody questioned it.

DS went from iron man to avengers endgame numbers with literally none of the build up
