Doing a 3rd rewatch of Cowboy Bebop, maybe an episode per day. Still noticing details I didn't pick up on before. Like in the opening scene how the dead rose drops in the puddle of water and slowly regains its color, metaphor for Spike having "died" once and being given new life as his story is told. Mars is said to be a place with a thriving economy. That's the motivation for the criminal couple to use drug trafficking as a means of escaping poverty. They're desperate for money not dissimilar to Faye, Spike and Jet who cannot stand being poor and are forced to put their lives in danger just to put food on the table. Kind of a vicious cycle in how the poor bounty hunters (who are bounty hunters because they're poor) have to hunt the poor criminals (who for the most part are criminals because they are poor) and oftentimes the bounty hunters don't even get much of a reward in return for risking their lives while the cops can just sit on their asses and assumably get paid a reliable wage. a lot about class struggles in Bebop and how criminal activity, violence is motivated by poverty.

Asimov had Spike in a chokehold dead to rights. Stopped after his partner said to let him go. They're criminals but not without empathy and you're made to sympathize with them as they try to escape their past only to realize they're trapped. Only appear in one episode and they're still so memorable.

Mohamed the fukk did they acquire the rights to these properties. They might have hit on a niche with this, I was saying years ago Netflix should tap into adapting webcomics and comic series. Anime was predominantly adapted from mangas.

I mean it aint mob psycho level but that's to be expected, looked like how i expected it to look tbh

Gotta remember webtoon has barely a fraction of the fanbase regular manga have. Crunchy prolly doesnt wanna put crazy money in until they see that the typical shonen fanbase is gonna fukk with it too.

I think GoH is a more proven genre of anime so the most money is prolly being split up between those two

Yeah and GOH animation actually looks far better hough despite being the weaker of the two products. But I hope the shyt takes off BC aside from one piece I think TOG is the next best thing out there in term of quality, arcs, characters, and world building.

I just started Tower of God it's definitely interesting so far. Been reading God of High School every now and then too, definitely would like to see that animated. Webtoons look like the new wave.

Whoever is running Netflix's anime division needs to be fired. Overpaying for bullshyt like 7 Seeds and Ultramarine Magmell, but ignoring an untapped market. :mindblown:
