The 2nd half of Seiren versus Rakuzan gave me chills on the level of Ippo/Sendo 2. Perfect ending to the game. Kuroko delivered on all of the hype and then some.

Reminded me of why sports anime tend to be so great. It's not just about the sport itself, but the relationships built through competition and how it influences people to find purpose in their lives. Kiyoshi will have knees made out of paper mache by the age of 30 and would do it all again if it meant bringing Seiren a championship. Those teammates became brothers for life. The generation of miracles were brought together through the game of basketball and were able to resolve their differences through the game of basketball. Sports can be a mediator for communication in ways that words often times fail.

There's a OVA episode at the end of the torrent I downloaded. Episode 25.5. All of the generation of miracles meet to play some casual pick up to celebrate Kuroko's birthday. All smiles. Then some of the rival schools join for a group party. Get the sense that no matter how old they become, they'll always have that memory of sharing the court in pursuit of a common goal. A surrogate family that's probably tighter than real blood.

This had the best visuals in a sports anime I've seen by a good margin. Haikyuu is close but it falls short by nature of the sport of volleyball compared to basketball that allows for so much more nuance and creativity. The OST is good, especially when it's crunchtime, and the sound design made it easy to immerse myself into the matches. Everytime Kagami drives or goes up for an alley he has a distinct grunt that lets you know much power he's putting behind that dunk. could listen to the above gif forever and get a solid visual of the play without watching it again.

All three seasons get 9/10. Will watch the Last Game at some point soon. Gonna stick in the sports genre for a while and try to watch everything that's relevant. Still haven't seen a bad one yet.

Yeah, Kuroko no Basket straight puts it's foot on the gas from the first ep and barely slows down for red lights.

Now. I know you say you're gonna watch more sports. Take a break from the normal sports anime.

Watch One Outs.

Last game shows more new stuff to certain characters in it when they go against the american team that is similar to a And 1 team and that was a good movie too

Watch One Outs.

Did see One Outs but I'm due for a rewatch sooner or later. I’d appreciate Toa Christ more if I watched it now versus five years ago.

Ippo, Ashyta no Joe, Kuroko, Ping Ping the animation, One Outs, Baby Steps, Haikyuu is everything I’ve finished.

If I keep going in order by popularity on MAL that means Free, Yuri on Ice, Chihayafuru, Redline are next.

pretty sure I’ll drop free but the others could be solid

you might really like Chihayafuru.
