Essential What Anime are you currently watching?

I know it's an alternative time line, but is it any good? Emiya da Gawd isn't in it is he?

Ehh it's ok. I always liked the concept of the Fate series, but they kinda jumped the shark with this one, doing some gender swaps they didn't need to and over sexualizing the heros. I'm not a fan of fan service, so that rubbed me the wrong way. Most of the action is pretty legit though. I liked the art and the soundtrack enough that I went out and downloaded it. The interpretation of Emiya in this one is interesting

I can't help but watch this show and think it's what would happen if Naruto and Sasuke were the main characters of Bleach instead of Ichigo and each joined a squad of the Gotei 13 and had the goal of being Pirate King like Luffy.

As lukewarm as I made it sound, I think it's worth the watch. It provides a different take on the Holy Grail War.

Just finished the Dungeon Exploration Arc of Black Clover. Not bad at all. If the show can really build on this I'll concede it's a bit better than the average shonen.

Anyone watching Fate/Grand Order or Fate/Apocrapha?

Apocrypha is definitely worth a watch, takes an interesting angle on the entire Holy Grail War while managing to unearth some Legends you don't expect to amount to shyt but end up being pretty boss.

I was pleasantly surprised.

Problem is the fans of the show are trying to put this on the Shounen Mt. Rushmore.

It's more favorable comparison is something like Fairy Tail. To me that's not an insult because I like Fairy Tail but it should never be compared to greatness. Fairy Tail has a lane somewhere in the middle of the pack and as long as you accept that you can watch it and enjoy it but once you start looking for greatness you're gonna be disappointed. Almost any good idea the show has originated and was better executed elsewhere.

There's plenty of series I like that I also know are ok at best shows. There are other shows I like but also recognize that they're among the best shows ever made.

I didn't even start enjoying Black Clover until I quit trying to see a GOAT status show and just accepted it as a more typical generic Shonen and moved on.

Code Geass was made by Gorou Taniguchi and Ichiro Okouchi. Clamp did the character designs. Saying the series is created by women is disingenuous. If two guys craft a series and get woman to draw the artwork for them does that make the women the creator or them?

If you look at CLAMP's artwork and Code Geass the character designs are similar.
