Macross always got crack music. "Aimo" from Macross Frontier still pops up in my head at random moments.

It's good. Makes an effort to include people of color, different languages to represent the diversity in the music industry. The performances are memorable for the most part and feels like you're listening to a real artist perform live on stage. There's even a fun arc where the show turns into an imitation America's Best Talent. Two girls of opposite backgrounds pursue a mutual dream of being music stars with no fanservice, so it's a straight rags to riches story that is easy to follow.

I posted this before, but you can get a sense of what the anime is about just from the OPs




Haven't seen the dub. But this is from the same director who brought us Champloo, Bebop, Space Dandy - all have great dubs. So I wouldn't suspect that this any different.
