The both of you don't know what you're talking about. :scust:

Demon Slayer isn't GOAT anime. But it's damn good anime. If you hate on IBO, then I understand why you'd hate on Demon Slayer. Hopefully, you're not still a Yugioh or Pokemon lover :scust:

Why is it damn good though? Add me to the list of people who think Demon Slayer is boring.

IBO is...very different from Demon Slayer.

Iron Blooded Orphans is a Mari Okada written show so of course many people here hate it. If you only watch shounen then that's probably the first time you've been exposed to a show she's written. It's probably one of her best works though. Usually if she's involved in something it starts out good but descends into a bunch of bullshyt.

Can no one appreciate character development and world building? There has to be gallons of blood and bombs everywhere for people to enjoy an anime? :francis:

Do I dare ask what you all thought about Samurai 7? :lupe:

I do. But I need a reason to be invested in the characters to care about their eventual development. Not much about Tanjirou stood out as a protag and his sister being made into an often cute demon pet undercut the tragedy of her turning into one. Wasn't all that excited to watch a training arc start in episode two about a thirteen year old I don't care enough about to see improve.

The fight choreography and visuals are really impressive. But not everyone prioritizes that in their critique of anime. I'd rather just watch a YT montage of the fights than sit through hours of episodes when there are 9999 other anime I want to watch.

She's a pretty prolific and polarizing writer but you also have to consider she didn't write the source material to some of that stuff. Like she wrote IBO herself from scratch but while she wrote the script for Zetsuen no Tempest and Toradora she did it from someone else's source material. Stuff like these shows are more typical of how she writes:
Araburu Kisetsu no Otome-domo yo.
Nagi no Asukara
Kiznaiver
Aquarion Evol
Hanasaku Iroha

Tons of forced melodrama between characters in her shows just like IBO had. It's probably why IBO had such long stretches without Gundam action.

I dunno, I guess I'm just built differently because I rank these shows based on actual entertainment. Which one of these series would I be able to rewatch & still enjoy?

That's why I can't get with OP, JoJo, & even Demon Slayer to a degree. They're good in season, at a binge but I can't see myself going back to them a year or 5 from now. The rewatch ability is low AF, for me personally.

At the same time, something I grew up on like Ronin Warriors? shyt, I can run through those repeatedly because it's just fun. It's dated but it's not pretentious at all, you get exactly what you expect based on the 1st episode. Same for Evangelion, Gundam, HxH, etc.
