AoT isn't afraid to realistically (I use that loosely considering we're talking about man eating giants) depict hopelessness. The wins are never celebratory because they're paired with heartbreaking losses. shyt, the next season or two is going to really test our preconceptions of good guys vs bad guys if they execute it the right way (and they've yet to execute anything the wrong way). AoT is easily the best super mainstream anime in years imo. HxH and Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood never hit this height of mainstream popularity, and neither was consistently depressing as this.I remember watching Elfen Lied way back when. It was bleak and depressing... in spurts, right. Dark side of humanity. Made me wanna take hot bleach baths with a SOS scrub pad instead of towels.
I remember watching Re:Zero. It was depressing, sure. It's hard getting shyt right. Every wrong move kills you. Life is a tightrope. but this is offset not only by it being torture porn at some points, but the protagonist is a fukking idiot and deserved a good chunk of that torture.
There's certain anime feature films that I'm not gonna discuss.
But this? Attack on Titan? This is some of the most consistent purely depressive shyt I've ever seen.

Any Promised Neverland fans? On episode 4 and cant stop watching, phenomenal stuff
Breh you got another thing coming. And when they get animate up to seasons 3 or 4 shyt is gonna have people losing their shyt
This Vetto vs Asta / Finral / Vanessa fight is WILD
BLACK CLOVER
@Consumed Finished March comes in like a lion breh, Yea the 2nd season gets a lot better and touches on the themes/plot I felt was missing in the first season. The stuff with Hina but I'm happy they focused on the other characters issues & personal life this season more. I also liked Rei playing the helper this time around and actually feeling apart of something. His adopted family was so fukked up, hating on the kid because they were lazy and had no passion to do anything. The mother actually had me upset in the final episode too because she knew she was driving the kid away for no reason and it wasn't his fault.
AOT is probably the worst actual anime world to live in by a wide margin. I couldn't imagine liking in that if it were real

@Bryan Danielson so how did you take all the reveals on AoT?
I really hope they get a good studio to animate what's coming because that shyt needs the top level work WIT gave the series these 3 seasons.
The holy shyt moments that are still left to be seen
