Didn't my boy Schennkopp go out like a goddamn G though? :to: that's my womanizing infantry pro-rebellion commander

some of those next few episodes :mjcry:

:mjcry:

Close to the ending. I appreciate how thorough the death scenes are. Even unarmed soldiers are shown fulfilling their duties until they can’t anymore, then calling the names of family members while crawling on the floor and holding together broken limbs

So far every prominent admiral/commander (except one...) has had an heroic death where they take the enemy with them and go out on their own terms. I respect that. We spend a hundred episodes getting to know these guys so it’s only right that they’re true to their characters until the very end. Reunthal choosing to rebel rather bend his knees to the empire after a false accusation, refusing to show weakness after being impaled by debris and rupturing arteries near his heart, killing that cancer Trunhit who’s been a threat to every nation he’s apart of and then leaving his child to mittenmyer who can’t have one.

In death you learn every single principle about a character and what they stood for. Never seen anything like this level of detail in an anime before.

A lot of people say that Reunthal could've reached Kaiser if Reinhardt was never around. Oberstein feared him, he held his own against Schenkopp 1 v 1, *Didn't lose to Yang*, would get his hands dirty, spared his men the rebellion after it was past the point of no return, didn't love not one ho but was respectful to everyone :wow:

it really ain't fair how much talent the empire had

I can't stop listening to this song, though Araki should have had a song from 95 or 96 as the current story on the anime was originally published in 1995-96. Man, these little shyt annoying teens are annoying they've invaded the comment sections in droves.

Maybe an even better Kaiser at that. wouldn’t have allowed Oberstein to run unchecked for 100 episodes which would’ve prevented a lot of casualties (the civil war, various riots, bombing an entire planet) and led to Rubinsky/Terriasts/Truniht/Lang being snuffed much earlier. Reinhard’s flaws of youth/inexperience and having to rely on others to make decisions for him which opens him up to manipulation don’t apply to Reunthal

Reinhard deserves credit for being an inspirational figure for those under him and for his compassion towards the public, but he doesn’t get anywhere without his massive fleet advantage and stacked roster. Crazy how Yang managed to drive them to a stalemate
