Finished the 1st season of Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu. The artform of verbal storytelling gives two orphans purpose in a world that doesn't value them otherwise. They grow up together as surrogate brothers and rival each other to become performance legends. Really good characterization between the two, and one of the morals of their relationship is you can never assume your rival has the ideal life. They probably envy everything about you too.

Lots of historical context about Rakugo and japanese performance arts. Definitely shows how fickle the industry can be. There was boom in attendance post war where most people are looking for distractions wherever they can find them. Then the television is introduced and movie theater popularized, killing interest and sending most performers into poverty. Tough career.

This anime reminded me a lot of Kids on the Slope. Thought there would be a relation between the two.

Haven’t finished Yu Yu yet, but I just watch Saiki K due to a recommendation, and this is the funniest comedic anime I’ve seen since one punch man and mob psycho. :ehh:
Saiki K is fukking hilarious

Only problem is, season 2 isn’t dubbed and Saiki K talks so fukking FAST that I have to focus on reading extra hard when it’s subtitled...

But it’s one of the funniest and best animes ive seen recently

Currently watching Deadman Wonderland trying to get into it...

Just finished Prison School... fukking hilarious :mjlol:

Especially the Dean or whatever he was.

Been bouncing around from Gintama, Saiki K, and rewatching Witchblade depending on the mood.

Gintama seems to be moving a lil slow for me atm. Saiki K is just hard to watch with Subtitles despite it being funny af. Witchblade I just forgot what happened since I watched it like 7 years ago.

Looking for some more to watch though. I’m watching that Diving anime on Amazon too... it’s pretty good

At first I hated Bakugo but now I warmed up to him and kinda like him better than Deku :ehh: I like his straight to the point aggressive nature. Only time I can't mess with him is when he's overtly getting insecure about him and turn b****made, bruh is fearless ready to throw down with anyone at anytime. :mjlol: at me just realizing how thotish Yaoyorozu character is.

Yeah. Pretty much since Season 2, Bakugo been my favorite character. How he styled the fukk on Monoma in the cavalry battle made me a fan. :banderas:
