Nature made Ash Lynx beautiful; nurture made him a cold ruthless killer. A runaway brought up as the adopted heir and sex toy of "Papa" Dino Golzine, Ash, now at the rebellious age of seventeen, forsakes the kingdom held out by the devil who raised him. But the hideous secret that drove Ash's older brother mad in Vietnam has suddenly fallen into Papa's insatiably ambitious hands—and it's exactly the wrong time for Eiji Okamura, a pure-hearted young photographer from Japan, to make Ash Lynx's acquaintance...

Episode 1 of Hanebado has some of the best visuals I've seen in sports anime

amazed by how well the CG is blended together with hand drawn animation. Even outside of matches where other anime within the genre tend to look like shyt, the shot composition and background quality is very good. I hope the production stays consistent.

The main girl doesn't seem to have any talent but she works harder than anyone to compensate. Her rival has all the talent with none of the motivation. I'm guessing they'll bring the best out of each other in competitions and the narrative will center on their relationship. Excited to see where it goes from here.

Yeah, it looks GOOD visually. My only problem with the first ep was it seems like they upped the drama factor to overcompensate for the fact that it's badminton.

But Im sticking with it, cause I love dramatic angst.

I thought the same. When those girls asked themselves "Why am I even playing badminton?" I thought "yeah, why are you?" and they never answered the question.

I'm alright with the heavy drama if they can explain why the characters care so much about the sport. Otherwise it'll become overbearing and hard to relate to.
