I think Death Note should have finished after L died, in fact, that's what the writer wanted but the editors told him to milk it for a bit. Going back to L's death that shyt hit home just knowing what he's been through and him persistently accusing light as the mass killer only for the idea to be brushed off, I never drop tears for fictional characters but L's death did the job. Props to the writer for actually making me be invested in the characters. Some these shounen Mangaka's could learn from the death note writer.
