You mad late. Anime is on the whole died in the modern world and reincarnated in a fantasy medieval world tip now. Usually with some type of magical power, knowledge or both.

But hey I understand. The name and promotional images really don't do the show justice.

You see it and think " who the hell wanna watch victorian schoolgirl maids doing chores and going to parties or whatever!?"

It's about hardcore espionage action, spies and assassins, political intrigue.

This is going to be one of those shows that cats watch out of boredom 2 or 3 years from now and be totally blown away by.

I've watched the first 5 episodes over the last two days. It has easily leapfrogged Tsureure Children on my seasonal faves list and knocked Kakegurui out the box as my favorite anime this season. Probably this year, outside of KonoSuba.

though please note I've been reading the Kakegurui manga for a while now, so I'm a bit ahead of the omg curve.

i remember being invested in all the characters and how complex their issues were. The way Shinji struggled with responsibility and continued to hurt himself through avoidance of others, Asuka feeling the need to prove her self worth and hurting the people she cared for, Misato's daddy issues and reluctance to trust anyone, what Kaworu represented struck a chord with me at the time.

The mech battles were really well animated and violent. Memorable soundtrack that hasn't gotten old yet. Some of the best cinematography anime has to offer. An anime everyone needs to see at least once

I will say that the quality fell after

Yang died. It just wasn't the same. Julian couldn't fill those shoes like I thought he would. Thought the last act was muddled and rushed. Hated Kaiser dying how he did as well but there was realism to it.

. For some reason, i don't feel like the story is complete. But it was a great ride none the less. In my top 10

Only thing I watched for damn near 3 weeks. Those deaths all had me angry and hurt . No one went out like they should've
