"This is Southern face it, if we to simple, then ya'll don't get the basics"
replace Southern with Japanese and you have Fuuka. The people hating on it don't get the basics of romance. You always go with the first pairing (Yuu and Fuuka) and the second pairing is merely a distraction (Yuu and Koyuki) why anyone expected different when this is exactly how it played out in Suzuka is stupid. And so many people obviously haven't watched Suzuka the way references are flying over their heads.
Winter Season review
Fuuka - 10/10
eldLIVE - 7/10
The Dragon Dentist - 7/10
Interviews with Monster Girls - 6/10
Hand Shakers - 5/10
Chaos;Child - 3/10
Masamune-kun's Revenge - 2/10
I also tried watching Akiba's Trip and Chain Chronicle but they were trash. ACCA and Dragon Maid just aren't my style but I'll try to finish them eventually.
Fuuka is my second favorite anime of all time. Fuuka is one of my favorite characters and the rest of The Fallen Moon are cool too. The final scene at the shrine is a perfect call back to the end of
Suzuka. Everything about this show has that Suzuka vibe while managing to be its own different show. It perfectly balances Music and Romance, Drama and Ecchi. People will hate it because it's Ecchi, and it didn't follow the manga (thank God!) but those things only make the show better. What I've heard about the manga, its baffling that people would want that. The manga sounds like some
After Story bullshyt, fukk all that. I was happy to see Suzuka finally get some screen time in the last couple episodes. The end of the season was satisfying, but I really want a second season. This was the best show of the season and Fuuka was the best character. Climber's High was the OP of the season as well.
Chaos;Child is the disappointment of the season. The first half was solid. It was interesting, they built up the characters nicely, and then they suddenly chose to make 3 of the main characters some of the most despicable a$$holes in history with very little explanation. What happened to Yui is pure nonsense, evil shyt just for the sake of it. I thought who they chose to be the killer in
ERASED was stupid, but this was worse.
Masamune-kun's Revenge sucked from the start but once they introduced the fat Masamune it was officially garbage. Worst anime of the season. I hate the term "unlikable" but that's the best way to describe every character on the show. The fat little c*nt is one of my most hated characters I can't even explain it smug little fakkit.
Interviews with Monster Girls was up and down each week depending on who the episode focused on. I really liked Hikari and her sister but the rest of the characters were boring so I was bored for most of the episodes that weren't about Hikari, while the Hikari episodes were always good. Ended up being average as a result.
Hand Shakers was better than I expected. The art put me off watching it but I actually ended up liking the art style. The episodes with the J-Pop idol were good but for the most part the show is average. Everything good about the show has been done better, even most of the same wishes were done better before by
Selector Infected WIXOSS, which is a much better version of Hand Shakers.
The Dragon Dentist was the most unique show of the season. It's biggest problem is that it isn't long enough at only 2 episodes. If it were a full 12 episodes it could have been great. I really enjoyed the concept and the characters were nothing special but they could of been if we had time to get to know them.
eldLIVE - The main character is a weirdo but that leads to some
moments. I like the concept and the characters, fights are nothing special but thats not the focus of the show. Second best show of the season
and that's really about all I watched. There wasn't much as far as DVD releases, all I can remember is ERASED, God Eater, DanMachi, and Luck & Logic. The only one of them I enjoyed is God Eater and you can see my thoughts on that a few pages back so no point in reviewing those again. Winter 2017 was a good season, but only because I loved Fuuka.
watching queens blade
there are some good animes that don't get a second season and this one has 3 + OVA's.
Queen's Blade is excellent at what it does (ecchi). It's actually incredibly underrated just like 95% of ecchi. Season 3 of Queen's Blade sucked but the first two seasons are good. OVAs and Specials are perfect for ecchi and serve little purpose for any other genre so I don't get that complaint. Queen's Blade is one of the best shows in a fairly big genre, that's why it has 3 seasons and a possible fourth season was announced this year.
