Just skip the fillers. I just finished reading the Boruto manga, and the first 10 chapters is exactly from the movie, with the exception of 1 key thing :wtf:.
that's what i been doing, wish i would've just watched all this piff when i was younger and had more free time...

Kuzu no Honkai was unbelievable. All it took was a cuckold to fix what was irreparably broken?

I finally watched Welcome to the N.H.K (kept putting it off cause it seemed depressing) and while I liked it, I was disappointed. A review on MyAnimeList summed up my issue with it perfectly
Nishiyamo on MyAnimeList said:
NHK ni Youkoso! is not perfect, not even in storytelling, which shows especially in rough transitions between various minor arcs trying to thematize very different issues socially inept people have to deal with. This leads to a somewhat staccato-styled storytelling, with its story broken up into several pieces and being not fluent enough to be considered a realistic tale. A very inconsistent implementation of romantic elements adds to this and makes me question the characters' attitudes. As a result, the story feels very different before and after episode 9. A sudden change in atmosphere is something that, in fact, often works for anime like these, given the sheer unpredictability in the behavior of mentally unstable characters. In NHK ni Youkoso!, however, this led to my disappointment.

The first 10 episodes were great but after that it felt like a different show. All it would take to solve both of their mental problems would be a relationship, which they teased over and over but didn't deliver on. Maybe they didn't think a show like this should have a happy ending, but after teasing it so many times you have to come thru at some point. This could have been a really powerful, GOAT tier show but the romance was terribly done and it becomes insanely unrealistic at one point with a NEET who doesn't leave the house having two women interested in him. The reason most people end up like that in the first place is a lack of romance and Misaki could have saved Satou and herself at any moment by kissing him like they teased in the early episodes. Who cares about not fitting in when you have a job and a girlfriend? That would of been a perfect ending but they chose a lame don't kill yourself contract ending instead.

Edit: They did get a lot right though. Misaki telling Satou that the key to getting over anxiety is to look down on everyone else is spot on. I really liked Misaki until they made her depressed too. I didn't think that was necessary. Although I suppose you could see the signs from early on.

Also they really didn't need to show Satou on the toilet. :scust: at whoever thought that was a good idea.

Neither were in the right frame of mind to have a healthy relationship. Wouldn't have made sense to me if they were a couple at the end, instead they made a pact to support one another implying eventually they'll be together when mature enough to handle it. A relationship takes a lot of effort to sustain and they weren't ready for that when they could barely even support themselves.

Who's the 2nd girl that liked Satou? Hitomi was just using him to get over her boyfriend. She's a reason for his mental decline

Loved NHK and the 2nd girl never truly cared for him, she was just using him to get over her relationship. TBH the chances of Satou finding a girl that perfect to cater to his needs in Miskai was unrealistic in itself so even tho I agree they should have put them together in the end after all the these teases that didn't make the show unrealistic to me. I did think Satou was a bit of a dikk at times even if the audience was supposed to sympathize with him. like @Consumed said chalk it up to Satou not being ready for a relationship

Just finished Geass in full, one of the best endings I've ever seen in anime

An unhealthy relationship is better for a NEET than no relationship. No way is someone like Satou whose never had a girlfriend turning down a relationship because he's not in the right frame of mind. No 22 year old male virgin is turning down sex like that. The easiest way to get back on track would be to get together especially since they both admitted they love each other.

The most basic rule of writing is don't tease something you won't eventually deliver and they teased and teased and didn't deliver. If they didn't tease a romance I wouldn't of expected one and would have been fine with the ending. Instead I kept saying "I hope they get to the relationship soon" after each of the last few episodes.

Hitomi almost had an affair with him despite supposedly being happily engaged and just finding out she's pregnant. She was willing to ruin that for a fling with Satou. That is what I would call an unhealthy relationship. I think two people on the same level with similar mental problems like Satou and Misaki could have a healthy relationship. Their friendship is already "healthy" and it's not like they know anyone else they can use to hurt each other.

It will always be unrealistic for two people to both admit they like/love each other and do nothing about it. They didn't even acknowledge that Satou told Misaki he loves her. They both just kept going on with their usual life when what they need more than anything is someone outside of their family who really loves them and is always there for them. A relationship is the best way to do that. You can say that their not in the best frame of mind but how are they going to get there if they don't take their relationship to the next level? I doubt their ever going to overcome their problems by just being friends.

Also I would argue that Misaki got over her problems, at least for the time being she can blame God for all of her issues, and Satou was forced to get a job, so he isn't a NEET anymore. They both made enough progress to where I think they would be able to be happy most of the time if they were dating. A close relationship is really the one thing their missing.

Satou is definitely a dikk, he almost punched Misaki for no reason and then after stopping her from killing herself he immediately goes and tries to kill himself. He even declined her relationship contract.

Code Geass is the exception to the unwritten rule "all anime endings must be a disappointment or non ending." It's a shame their going to ruin what was a perfect ending with the new season this year.

Satou isn't a virgin. He had sex with Hitomi in high school and identified her as his first meaningful relationship. He couldn't see Misaki in a romantic light until she was out of the picture. From what we learn of Misaki later on it's clear her motivations were more sinister than just wanting to date Satou, she wanted to take advantage of his illness to make herself feel better. The entire basis for her attraction was how fukked up he was and this was supposed to spawn a love story? Hell no, it ended how it had to. Welcome to the NHK was never meant to be a feel good story, the original source is even harsher than the anime shows.

Hitomi was about to kill herself. She wasn't about to have an affair with Satou, just wanted him along for the ride so she didn't have to die by herself.

Misaki and Satou are in a relationship by the end. Just not romantically yet, it's implied that they're building towards that with the contract signed. I also wouldn't say they got over their problems. It only takes one slip up to fall right back into depression. It would surprise nobody if Satou quit his job in a month.

Your talking about manga. None of that happened in the anime. They even say he's a virgin in the anime.
