Have you seen the Shigurui anime? It's only 12 episodes long and ends at an interesting point. You'd have to read the manga to get more. The anime has realistic character animation but what's also very unique about the anime is that the creator of the manga Yamaguchi shows medical knowledge of the human body. When people fight or during a strenuous activity there is an x-ray flash views of what the organs, nervous system, bones, or muscles of a particular person are doing.
It's not for the faint of heart though, the gore will have you
and it's VIOLENT as fukk.

All you Shonen fans should check out Magi. The anime is relatively new but there are more than 150 chapters in the manga.
I've only read the manga and it's absolute crack. Great cast of characters, intriguing powers and a well built world. I haven't been this impressed with a shonen manga's world since maybe One Piece. Magi isn't quite at that level but as the story progresses it just gets better.

In the manga she murks herself, in the anime it's only implied but considering her extreme doormat personality I think that bytch jumped.
