Oh yeah, I'm finna try to muscle through this WGU crap as quickly as possible. I don't want to spend more than 6 months on this crap. I already got most of the certs for the BS IT. I might sign up for that study.com site so I can complete some courses before starting and transfer them over.
Breh WHAT?!

Wth type of cheat code is this?? Study.com

Damn I love thecoli. Y’all drop some serious gems. Whew.

Question for you. Wouldn't it be possible for you to study the material before enrolling (for free), and then enroll afterwards and just speed through tests for 6months to get the degree? Seems like you could do the whole degree thing with 3500.

My local state school charges 550-650 per class and 500 in fees for a full time semester. Thats The net equivalent of the $3500 cost of WGU for 6 months. 7000 for the year. @stick2dascript67 since you have completed the same workload as a traditionally enrolled student (9 classes) in the year that you've been a student, why not just enroll in a normal college for more support? Especially for programming stuff.

The folks who already know the material seem to be the ones winning in the WGU model. The flat rate model seems financially deleterious to folks who take 4 yr schooling model, because you would'vepaid the same thing as a brjck and mortar student and received a tenth of the support (facilities, lecturers, tutoring, study groups, counselors, labs , technical coursework, internships, etc) that a traditional student gets.
Wgu is cheaper and quicker plus I don't have to take perquisites if I went to a traditional college, also it's easier for me studying sty own pace it's basically free for me since I'm lower income right now if I went to fiu I would have to take a bunch of extra classes.

Wgu has a discord and Reddit chat that has tutors and most the information is online, also it's websites basically where students can leave notes to their work and you just have to memorize it.

I didn't do good in traditional college, so it would take slot longer plus gas to get there and back wgu is better for older students and plenty of help online.

But honestly what you said is 100npeecemt correct if I had the time, face to face learning is king but I'm older so that's alot harder than having some kid half my age school me on everything

If you're lower income it's basically 600 a semester or 1200 a year cash state pays the rest.

Can't beat that so you need to grind and finish asap. Everything is online now it's so much study groups, Facebook, Reddit and all.

Wait, what is Chegg :patrice:
I googled it and found this. So I guess you can get help with your work for a monthly subscription fee.

If you're not serious about it you can be spending thousands of dollars of you hard-earned money to basically not get a degree. Many people doing the "speed runs" are already familiar with the fields and material.

Correct. WGU is really good for people with work experience in the field and really just need the official degree. Those are the people most likely to finish faster and cheaper.

And they are the type of people that place of degree is less likely to matter when applying for jobs because they already have work experience.

How do you figure those with no experience will do with the program
