As a man who has been in every GxFR thread I've ever been in and blessing us I can't be mad at you for this. I always said he can't top FlyGod - but this is a good follow-up. Gunn is boring period... so to be honest I'm more impressed at the fact that I can listen to a "whole" album of him. This shyt really does just have it's tracks though... but the skippers are not terrible.
I agree 100%.

Gonna post my track for track review tonite. Bumped it a few more times today

That Wrestlemania 20 track is probably the first genuinely catchy song Griselda has put out. Been stuck in my head for a few days

Aight here we go brehs.... long post so bare with me:lupe:

1. Big Homie Arn (Intro) - Dope intro from Arn Anderson. Benoit didnt follow the code :ohhh:
2. God's Dont Bleed feat. Benny & Jadakiss -
I cant tell if its the beat thats underwhelming or if its just Benny's verse up first..He just didnt sound enthusiastic enough for that first verse on there. It's a good verse on paper. Jada's part is Jada. He never spit a wack verse ever. I'm not sure if this was the song he shoulda got Jada on...or maybe its missing a Conway verse. Gunn's verse has grown on me after a few listens. 3.75/5 :ehh:

3.Dean Malenko -
Perfectly raw beat for Gunn. This is the type of shyt i like to hear him on. Another track i think Conway would have sounded great on but this one is already a pretty good length at 2:47. 4/5 :bustback::bustback:
4. Brutus feat. Benny & Conway -
The intro to this beat is so crazy to me...then the beat drops and i always feel like i was expecting something different. I do like this track but I'd like to hear what else Pete Rock would have done with this sample. Benny killin on there "i love my mom but that hard was my real parents" :scust: ..Gunn with some quotables on here too "the nikkas that you idolize, i'm least impressed with" :smoker: Conway did his thing on this one too..obviously the Wayans line was one of the standouts of the entire album...Where the fukk is Conway for the rest of this album????? 3.75/5 :obama:
5. Amherst Station -
This track is cool but i feel like he's done this exact same song like 5x at least 3.5/5 :yeshrug:
6. RUD -
I hated this song the first few times I heard it but this one has grown on me. I'll bump this one on the late night. 3.5/5 :boss:
7. Elizabeth -
Now this is a great Westside Gunn track. This is like the adult fully grown version of Amherst Station. Alchemist really brought it on this album. Catchy hook. 4.5/5 :blessed:
8. Mean Gene -
This is easily the hardest song on the album. This beat is amazing. Wait. This shyt is only a minute & a half long? WHAT THE fukk?!?!?!?! The Jada verse shoulda been on this song. Conway shoulda also been on this song. Yo what the fukk. Let the best track on the album just be a dope ass teaser :snoop: 4/5
9. Stefflon Don -
The nerve of them to follow up arguably the illest beat on the album with this track. How did two people collaborate on this beat? I think if it didnt follow Mean Gene i'd maybe like it more or if it was a random Mach Hommy track. This is kind of whatever and I'm not mad at this one being short as fukk. 3/5
10. Sabu -
I fukk with this joint. This will be another one i bump late at night high as fukk. 4/5

What is with all these super short tracks in a row? :dahell:

11.
Brossface Brippler feat. Benny & Busta - Another one from Alchemist. MVP of this album by far. Busta sounding congested as fukk on this but i love all the verses on this. Easy 4/5 for me. This shyt pounds and is haunting. :wow:
12. Spanish Jesus feat. Crimeapple -
I dont really mess with Harry Fraud but this is a good addition to the record. I like Crimeapple and look forward to his growth as an artist/mc. This isnt my favorite but I think its a good track 3.75/5 but i can see that rating going either direction over time :manny:
13. The Steiners feat. Elzhi -
This is an odd track in that they are both just rapping about whatever the fukk. What its missing is an MF DOOM verse. That woulda took this one to another level. Good verses from both either way. I kinda enjoy this beat more than the other one Pete Rock did 3.75/5 :ehh:
14. Ric Martel -
It feels like some Rosebudd's Revenge shyt so i like it. My one issue with this tho is during Roc's verse when the beat starts to build his verse is completely lost in the sample. I dont know what the fukk was going on there. 3.5/5 :dwillhuh:
15. Westside -
Standard head nodder here. I can bump this one tho. 3.75/5 :smugfavre:
16. Wrestlemania 20 feat. Anderson Paak -
Definitely a favorite and a perfect ending to the album in my opinion. 4/5 :mj: :dj2::mj:

Overall its a good record but definitely left something to be desired. The mix is a bit plain and i think on some tracks they coulda panned some shyt at least..aint gotta be Kendrick Lamar level vocal sorcery but just add in something to make certain lines stick out more...especially for Benny. Only having one Conway verse on the album is not the move.

I give this record somewhere around a 3.75-4 out of 5.

Does anyone else's album sound like it wasn't mixed/mastered well? I played this shyt in the car yesterday & some of the songs don't sound polished AT ALL. This wasn't the case with the Flygod album.

I'm just trying to see if it's actually the album or just the copy that I got.
i think thats how it sounds :mjcry:

Only noticeable one to me is the song with Roc Marciano. That's mixed terribly like a lot of recent Roc stuff.

just now gettin around to this project. i will say so far that Brutus would be so much more impressive had I not had Enter the Void in such heavy rotation lately. The third eye boys bested the grimy nikkas on this one. :wow: i will enjoy playing them back to back though, and experiencing the slight beat switch

not gonna lie this was probably my first time listening to WSG, it's a decent album to say the least. I probably go back and listen to some of these guys other work to get a good feel(:dame:) for their music. Benny voice throws me off sound like dude hasn't reached puberty yet:pachaha: and his ad libs are terrible. Production is dope i'm sure stuck in the 90's boom bap heads love it.
