I feel like what Griselda and Roc Marciano did for hip hop bridged the gap from around 2004 to 2014 - that era was empty to me - and I study rap hard.
When I heard of WSG around 2014 and Roc earlier - they created the hip hop sound I craved. Basically 1997 rap - upgraded, improved but carrying the same quality.
So I have love for and appreciate what they did and are doing for rap culture.

Heard it for the first time last night.
Its sound is modern and crisp which makes it feel like you’re listening to something released in 2019 and not 1995.

Skits and Interludes weren't necessary but besides that the whole album is fire to me
I only listen to Griselda from time to time so maybe that's why I'm not fed up with daringers sound

There's definitely a particular sound these albums have that sample live source music. I dunno...it feels slightly hollow to me. You can never replicate taking a dusty sample.
I still like it through. The more minimal griemy tracks work best that use short loops like Chef Dreds.
I think Conway is MVP. To me Conway is the best balanced rapper in Griselda. Benny is a better rapper and has bars for days but I find his shyt a little robotic at times, like he comes across as a mix between Jada, Pusha and JR Writer but specifically with JR's (lack of) charimsa. I think Westside is the most charismatic out of the crew but easily the worst rapper. Conway splits the different...he has a presence on the mic that Benny lacks while also rapping better than Westside.

Griselda came through and beat a large percentage of underground hip hop.
I loved underground from 1997 to around 2004.
Then rappers
- changed their voices
- belief systems
- watered themselves down by literally making crew with ppl far lesser
- changing their sound instead of building upon it
- beefing with core members
What did Griselda do?
- very dope beats and samples
- sticking with Daringer and core producers
- WSG stops rapping on radio - I get freaked out - then he comes back and drops dope verses
- whole image is dope
- WSG with the non stop dope moves - photos with Em to walking in Chicago alone with all his jewelery on?
- Benny I never felt him at first - then he runs in first place being a complete monster on the mic - talking business - not just chopping - legit inspiring business
- they wore Confederate flags shocking alot and then being like fukk it, we do whatever we want
- it's just extreme art
- Hitler on covers?

Griselda crew is very very disciplined
They are the ones that saved hip hop.
Them and Roc Marciano.
They're building and doing what's right.

And sorry I even feel fukked talking how they used Hitler and that flag. It's fukked. It makes me uncomfortable but I feel like they rock it in victory. Like their dead and these are trophies fukk them.
