Same type of thing that has been happening in some countries in East Africa. Removing the children, having them spend hours memorizing the koran, mistreating them..something has to be done. I've also heard of this happening in other regions, with Islamic leaders promising to educate the children and the children end up being sent out on the street to beg. I'm not surprised this is happening in Indonesia.

I live in the West of course. But what worked here doesn't mean it will work in other places.

What's the fake outrage here? I mean the kids are killing 2 birds with one stone. They're getting educated to succeed both in life and the here after. If I had opportunity like that, I would jump at it growing up instead of being filled with secular teachings.
