I'm all in on Jordan Phillips now....If that doesn't pan out gimme any black niggga with a troubled past playing DT for us next year.

The thought process HAD to be that we only have ONE hole in our front 7. While I would have like to have tightened that up, you have

Hitchens-McClain-Lee
Lawrence-Crawford-ColiPoster-Hardy

as the unit probably beginning week 5 and beyond. I'm cool with 6 difference makers in the front 7. Now corners on the other hand. Carr fucc around and get cut. Mo is cheeks. I forgot we signed Corey White.

Sandrick
Claiborne
Jones
White

That's what we're looking at, at CB. Realistically DB was the only option to go at 27, although we might have wanted a sexier pic. No young yogurt.

It's kind of hard for me to hate on 6'1 with a 44in vert. I remember being like WTF when we drafted Ware and we see how that played out. We're gonna have to wait and see.

I've warmed up to the pick. Like @BigE214 said, we theoretically only have 1 hole in our front 7. Our entire secondary is a mess. I'm not as sold on Church and Wilcox as you guys. They've had their moments, but I'm not satisfied with them as true NFL starting caliber safeties.

And we already know the CBs are asscheeks as a unit outside of Scandrick.

Hopefully we can scoop up a DT and a RB tomorrow. If so, this Byron Jones pick will sit a lot better with me.
Dude has absolute filthy measurables :scust:

You see how long his suspension was and Lawrence still has a lot to prove. Mincey is JAG. Crawford the only one i have high expectations for. When was the last a big free agent dl signing worked out for us? Dat dude and Glover was huge letdowns.
Lawerence still has a lot to prove yet Brown and Gregory don't?

Appearing on NFL Network's NFL AM on Monday, Johnson picked Dallas when asked which NFL team was the best fit for his skill set. "In college, we ran the same outside zone scheme," Johnson said, also noting that, "I can run it, basically, in my sleep."

Church is the truth. Wilcox is pretty ass. I'll let y'all know about Jones after his first preseason game.

Here's what I noted so far.

-when plays are extended he's good at making plays on the ball
-he gets his head around against balls downfield
-sure tackler
-has to this house speed

I got more shyt to watch but he did his thing against Michigan and I agree this was an Al Davis like pick.

Can anyone find a story about his visit with us?

Save yourself some time and don't watch any youtube game film of Byron Jones unless you wanna be put to sleep.

Besides the East Carolina game, teams just didn't throw at him.

"His 26.3 quarterback rating against was the second best in the FBS."
