That's typical homer delusion (edit: not you specifically)

Minnesota has no incentive to trade DDV back to NY, optics for one, and two he's on a great contract value-wise

The way Grimes is hoopin now, he isn't coming back to NY just to stand in the corner again.
I called then getting Grimes or DDV a mini miracle in the post before, I know it’s unlikely. However, if Thibs played more of the roster, more people could be traded for assets. Also forget the optics, the wolves want KD. DDV for a first isn’t a crazy move since they might be looking to shed his contract anyway. Though it doesn’t matter because the Knicks can’t cobble together the assets needed for even a future first right now.

A lot of issues and limitations on this team are related to Thibs. Like this squad reflects what we seen from Thibs his entire career. A high floor, low ceiling team.

We really need a new coach. It’s just my opinion, but we seen everything Thibs can do at this point, and it’s very limited. A less talented team can always beat him by putting in maximum effort and making a couple of in game adjustments.

Some of us have been delusional about this team, including myself. I did have high hopes coming into the season, but damn.

We went 13-2 in December, our best month. But if you closely look, most wins came against really bad teams.

Since 1 Jan, we are 19-16. With a few good wins here and there. We are 13-17 against teams .500 or better. While the pacers are 23-11 since 1 Jan and 16-13 against.500 or better.

I would avoid the pacers and perhaps bucks at all costs in round 1, but I fully expect to beat the pistons.

But we probably get sent home in 4 or 5 in round 2 against the Celtics in embarrassing fashion

Not stressin this.
bad stretch in the schedule.
i wouldnt mind us droppin to 4 anyway but i think we bounce back. Just gotta get through the wizards game and then we can rest a little until tuesday.

Our defense is Alarmingly trash though. Not sure if its fixable
Spurs and Hornets are trash. These shouldve been easy wins even with no brunson

Yes and No. Phil Jackson, Gregg Pop, Ty Lue, and Spo can all do the fusion dance and take Thibs spot, Payne/Shamet/Precious would still suck and this team would still lose in Round 2 this year.

On the other hand Thibs doesn't let the rookies we have play thru mistakes to potentially fix the 1st problem. And does dumb shyt like play 8 guys on the 2nd game of a road B2B yesterday and wonders why there's no energy out there.

Our mid-ness is nuanced lol

its not about brunson
we are tired as fukk

"By now you should all be aware of the fact that this game was the last of not only seven road games over their last eight and nine road games over their last eleven, but 13 nights in a hotel over the last 15 and 16 nights in a hotel across a 22-day span.

The were sent to the West Coast for 12 days, came home for one full day, then went back west for two days and flew overnight back east to Charlotte, got in at 3 a.m., to play the second game of a back-to-back."

You have to factor that in. Doesnt help that thibs been playin these guys meaningless minutes in most of these games.

For the playoffs we should be rested and healthy. it will come down to execution. I'm not sure if thibs is ready for all that

He also avoided playing KAT at the 4 most the season. He didn‘t put McBride next to Brunson in the back court. I am 100% sure PJ Tucker being on this roster is Thibs related, and we are seeing signs he is losing the locker room. The rookie who had early promising signs went into a slump and Thibs cut his minutes so much he is now averaging the least minutes of a first rounder in his class. Kolek should be seeing some minutes as back up PG…. He’s getting nothing.

I will say this, even if you think the main issue is the roster is bad, Thibs decisions have made it worse. The alternative is the roster is not bad and they are playing below their ability.

Depending on how the knicks do in the playoffs, the FO might wanna peel off one of the "Big 5" on the squad for depth/assets (Not Brunson tho). I think star chasing is overrated at this point too. The talent gap in the NBA has shrunk a lot, there are a lot of dudes that can ball the fukk out if given a chance.

I think they run it back and add a wing and a big. Then try to see if MarJon and Dadiet can be depth players as well. You don’t build that lineup and then break it apart before you change coaches. Thibs is not Pop or Spo…

KAT should be playing a 4. He went to the WCF as a 4 and as a 5 we are just as janky as all the bad wolves teams defensively with him as a 5. It’s a testament to how talented the starters are that we have the record we have. It’s them being tired why we’re losing to teams now.
