That layup from Ayo

Stop it. That contract is atrocious and has a player option and itโs the first year of a 5 year deal. That shyt was already addressed on locked on bulls or locked on nba. Itโs not an outrageous contract but itโs long and has a player option. No team ainโt taking it on unless Chicago taking back a worse contract.a team that sees his upside would happily give up an aging vet along with a second rounder since his contract isn't ridiculous.
That layup from Ayo
They didn't give him a 5 year deal in RFA like they did with Pat so while he's on a great value contract, they aren't going to want to pay him his actualized value in 2 years. Plus they'll have paid Giddey, and by then that new TV deal will have kicked in and Coby will be looking to get a big pay day.
Something to monitor over the next year for sure. Ayo is also going to command a bag in this timeframe as well
Trading Caruso for Giddey and then trading Cody to keep and pay Giddey is nastywork all around.I already know it's a necessary evil. I guess what I'm saying is, I'd rather keep a guy like Coby instead of trying to build with/around Giddey's skill set. Coby will be much easier to pair with whoever ends up being "The Guy" IMO.
After this season, Coby and Ayo are on expiring contracts and they can't retain them if Zach and Vuc are on the books along with whatever Giddey gets.
I don't hate Giddey, but that trade was unnecessary with the current roster. To me, it would have made more sense to trade Caruso for picks, see what you have in Dalen and how Zo looks... They already knew that Coby and Ayo are starting caliber guards.
Now you bring in a guy that takes minutes from all those guys and who you will have to pay in the summer.
Trading Caruso for Giddey and then trading Cody to keep and pay Giddey is nastywork all around.
Team will be paying Pat 18M a year and Giddey close to 30M a year.
That's basketball depression moving forward.
Jake Fischer: โSources tell The Stein Line that LaVine, who has put himself in contention for a third career All-Star selection with his strong play for the Bulls thus far this season, would prefer to remain in Chicago beyond the Feb. 6 deadline..โ
