Good prove it deal
We're still plugging holes with short term fixes
We need to draft McLeod's replacement with one of those first 3 picks
We need to give Wallace reps at one of the S spots
Good prove it deal

Completely different circumstances.expectations the last time we had a 2nd yr QB starting was playoffs. Should be no diff this time around.
Completely different circumstances.
That team had a 2nd year QB who started his entire rookie season, a 2nd year HC with the same staff, and pressed the gas in the offseason to address their biggest needs (Alshon & Torrey at WR, Darby at CB). They were gunning for a playoff berth.
This team is in a transition year even the owner acknowledged - this year is about clearing the books, developing young talent, implementing new schemes on both sides (that's the true value of signing Harris since he knows Gannons defense), and seeing what their young QB can do.
They're in the same place as 2016 was when they started hot but ultimately landed at 7-9. Next offseason is when they'll have a QB on a rookie deal (Hurts or Fields/Lance) + over $50m in cap space to fill holes and make a push.
Media projections had us 3rd or 4th because the Cowboys & Giants were fresh off 11+ win seasons. That stuff means nothing, I'm speaking on what the team itself was projecting and the actions they took. 2017 and 2021 are nothing alike.we were projected to finish last in the division in 2017, even with the FA signings we made

Like I said - the owner publicly acknowledged that this is a transition year where they sort out their cap issues and focus on developing young talent. It doesn't mean things can't click and go right, but if playoffs are your expectation you're being cruel to yourself.
The only way we're not contending by 2022, let alone 3 years from now, is if Coach Sirianni is trash and both Hurts and/or whatever other top QB prospect they acquire flop. We're 3 yrs away from contention min, but excuses will be made

If we draft Pitts, Goedert is a goner after next season
My philosophy is never take a TE in the first rd
