Robs Corned Beefwas the spot on E. Warren? There was a corn beef joint there, across the street or near this Fruit Market that had some legit sandwiches at the time. Around what year was this?

That's insane, surely some rich cats would just be scooping up the land left and right and just sitting on it. to you for taking advantage.
Robs Corned Beef
Skateland is still poppin, damn near 7-9 murders there since I was a kid but it still bangs. The bowling alley been gone since like 98 lol, shyts been a market for years. Mr C's is still there too and the Pizza hut.
I live in nyc, work in queens and the area reminds me of the area me,coney island, and e warren are talking about. It spots like that in Long Island too. Lmao@ at the 8mile shyt I give them nikkas the face as soon as the bring that, or they Motown house or whatever up. Talking about they wanna visit, I tell them let me know I know some nice guys that'll show you aroundthis post has me thinking back to when my uncle used send me to the store to grab his smokes and play his lotto, nowhere near of legal age to do any of it, paid for everything and walked out though typical liquor system though lol.
breh that's the truth, last year i did a lot of traveling for my IT work, and it was everything you said plus a TON of questions, it didn't matter which state/city, and of course the usual 8 mile movie discussion .
Even out in NY when I used to go out there and visit some people, I got a lot of "i hear it's bad out there" /shook type of comments. Low key some of the areas/boroughs out in NY like Queens and some parts of Brooklyn remind me of the D.
But yeah you're right on the money. I have a couple stories/could go on all day about that topic.
For you Warren and Mack breh's is that bowling alley on Warren still there? East Warren Lanes i believe, Mr. C's Pizza, and what about Skateland? Is it still there? All childhood stuff for me.
That's for the info my nikka, Detroit dudes in general need to start sticking together and get this land before we end up how nyc did, I see it everyday. We have a beautiful city, but these wild nights ain't on the same page. You gotta check the auctions. When a crib gets foreclosed on, they auction it for whats owed in taxes first. If they dont get that, the next mont the auction starts at 500$, I only had 1 person bidding against me and he stopped at 1695$, I had my bid maxed at 3,000 cause the crib was worth more than that, but I only ended up paying 1,695.
The catch to that is the fact that I was already living there, and I knew it had not been stripped down, so I was not taking any chances. For you, your best bet would be to check the foreclosures, look for something with a pic that looks good from the outside (or Google Earth the address) and go break into that bytch to see if its been stripped yet. I got the steal cause I already knew the deal. If you dont mind going to the location and checking, you can find something thats worth a few racks.
yeah i was wondering about that, i could have sworn it was closed down or at least deactivated for a while due to some murders. That Pizza Hut has been there for a loooooong time, Mr. C's too, good to know that.
On Yorkshire????? It was a liquor store with pizza right?????? Im trying to think of any other one but I cant. The one in Gross Pointe across from Mr C's Carwash is the Mack one right?I think you're talking about the original Mr. C's on E. Warren right? That closed down and got bought out by some Arabs. The closest is one on Mack in Groose Pointe. I used to stay up in there playing arcade games (i.e. NBA Jams) Used to love those square large pizza though
Yep, the one on Yorkshire. Used to be Mr. C's but now just a liquor and pizza store. Yep, the one across from carwash near the post office. On Yorkshire????? I remember when I heard that Dice song on the Rap Blast that dissed Jordan's pops. Me and my niguhs was like "Mess with Dice, don't bother. Or you'll end up like Jordan's father."come on out when you have time. when you go from area to area it will seem like a graph hill with all of the up and down you will see visually.
what really gets me the most is how the radio stations and the music fell off.
you had the hiphop shop where cats like Eminem, Proof, Elzhi, Slum Village/Dilla and etc were unknown yet all in the same building hungry and spitting/battling
A station out here: FM 98 used to have this show called the rap blast,. i believe it was either Friday or Saturday nights from like 8,9 PM-12:00 AM, they played all of the new shyt, local and nationwide, they used to have folks calling in freestyle battling over the phone, they used to always have the exlusives and remixes too, first time I heard Outkast Elevators, Common's the bytch in Yoo before any of it was released, classic debates over the Canibus and LL battle . They stayed playing underground ish, and positive groups like Pharcyde,Camp Lo, Goodie Mob, stuff from all regions. Def Jam, Deathrow, Suave House, Rap-A-Lot, everything.
Man
Yeah, like you said most. I couldn't believe though a couple of houses being abandoned near Chandler Park. I could never imagine that as a kid.I always said that Outer Drive is a big ass front for the city. Damn near all of Outer Drive looks nice, you can ride it thru the whole city, and you NEVER see police riding up the street. All houses on Outer Drive in most areas are still nice as fukk, and big as fukk. I would love to find me one of those for the low low. But as soon as you hit one of them streets, the whole vibe changes lol.
