I don't agree with this move, yes Kirk has been playing bad the later stretch of this season. But this is a very bad move to put in a unproven rookie quarterback in a very high pressure situation where the margin of error is very thin for this franchise trying to get into the playoffs.
Ehh, might as well see what he can do. Going against the giants is a nice game to start too.
You agree with trotting Kirk back out there with how he’s looked the past 5 weeks?
If Kirk would have laid an egg this upcoming Sunday against the Giants (which basically ends in the result of our season being over), then hell yeah start Penix, the Falcons need to see what they have going into next season.Man hell nah, after last night you think we stood a chance going 3-0 with Kirk after seeing whag happened last night?!
I’ll take my chances with the rook with teams not having much film and actually have to account for deep passes and pocket movement.
You my guy butlet Atlanta burn
We split with y'all bussa assesYou my guy but

I just feel this is a very knee jerk reaction, The Falcons are putting the season on the line with a unproven rookie quarterback coach Rah is making this move like his job is on the line he's still in his first season with this team.
With this move, this is basically the organization saying the season is over.Bro have you watched him play this season? Serious question
Kirk has been up and down all season but this stretch he’s been on the last 5 games:
1-4 record
62.7 completion percentage
236 yards passing
1 TD, 9 INTs
Passer rating: 63.8
Not to mention he leads the league in INTs and 3rd in the league in fumbles lost for the season. What more evidence do you need with 3 games left in the year that it was time for a change?
No way. You risk losing the locker room by keeping a guy with 1td in 5 games in the starting lineup. With this move, this is basically the organization saying the season is over.

You keep cousins in and that is a sign you have given up on the season
Penix is not being thrown into the fire. He is being eased into it, that's the whole point of sitting behind cousins all these games. He is more ready now, than he was week 1
