I just asked the question brother.
“What is the downside for Black people?”
Because at the end of the day that’s my only concern.
Look I respect you as a poster. I would say you’re one of the top 5 posters on this forum. Even when I disagree with you, you are consistently fair and level headed. You said some real shyt in that “Blame Blackman” thread that was nuanced and made me think.
Im just trying to gain understanding on why your reaction to Cube is so visceral, when he doesn’t appear to be hurting Black people.
Fine. Out of respect ( cause election trolling aside i think you're a good poster) I'll answer wholly and honestly
I am honestly disappointed in folks like Cube who don't have a visceral disgust and perception of the enemy. In 2016 I can understand giving him the benefit of the doubt, not in 2020. He is a white supremacist and proud of it. He expanded systematic racism and rolled back civil rights. so why the fukk are we letting white girls be the loudest voice of opposition against a man who sent the national guard into all our major cities for demanding justice for a black man? I would expect a 2020 woke era reaction from black men to be more like this
Its not even about him presenting the plan to Trump (that is naive just by itself). Its his response to a Klansman who just fukking played in his face. SOFT. He's going on interviews with smoke for women, liberals n shyt while an open racist playing with your name? Word? Its the definition of punching down.
If you consider yourself pro black you have to anti white supremacy. Bottom line. No way around it. Before pro black money, before pro black wealth or whatever. Cube just seems like a bullshytter at this point trolling for attention.
Anyone who follows and advocates for pro black causes at any political level has a lifetime of frustration watching black people not be on code when it counts outside of obama. Trying to get people to vote in primaries, trying to get people hip to local polticial fukkery etc. Especially for the incremental shyt like replacing establishment democrats who don't do enough for black people or getting a real black agenda into Senate. I imagine it's doubly frustrating for black scholars (ive met them irl) who try to change things "the right way" from inside the system. So to watch a charade from a rapper in the 11th hour treating his contract like it's reprenstative of all black people's will is a slap in the face to the black advocates and scholars that could have used his celebrity support ages ago.
Now his celebrity is being used in only 1 tangible directon: as trump propaganda. And he has NOTHING to say about that. Instead he wants to juelz about a contract thats on no politicans agenda. Taking credit for a bill Gavin Newsom submitted in one breath then claiming democrats dont want to work with him in the other.
These aren't the moves of a serious black man
