About 'The Mummy':

Shortly after the film opened Variety reported that Cruise had excessive control over the film and firm control of nearly every aspect of production and post-production, including re-writing the script and editing to his specifications, telling Kurtzman how to direct on set, and enlarging his role while downplaying Boutella's. Universal contractually guaranteed Cruise control of most aspects of the project, from script approval to post-production decisions.

:scust: :scust: :scust:

I hope this movie universe hasn't been killed off AGAIN because of this idiot. I don't know what Universal was thinking giving this guy so much power. Dude had his fingers in everything. :mindblown: I've always thought Cruise was overrated. I hope this is where we start to see his lack of power for future projects.

Hopefully they'll move forward with the Dark Universe and recast Cruise or drop him altogether.

If you saw the movie then u know it will be impossible to recast him with the way the story goes. Well not impossible but it would look dumb with switching the main guy

Yep, I saw it, and that's why I mentioned the option of dropping his character altogether. Have some dialogue like, "We've lost track of him, it's like he's fallen off the face of the earth" and let that be that and never mention him ever again. I really don't want Cruise to be in any more of these movies. Personally, I thought it was a decent popcorn flick, but it's not what I wanted and it's obviously not what audiences wanted either. Would rather they don't take the chance of using him again and letting him screw up production.

They can always introduce another mummy-powered person later on, if they want. The mummy isn't a specific person. Even the OG series featured two different characters as "The Mummy".

Or maybe they can reintroduce Dracula as the big bad since these characters are B level compared to him. I thought this universe would be in reverse like we see the monsters being recruited to take over the world and dr jekyll could just have his squad of van helsing descendents

Apparently universal turned things over to Blumhouse - with The Invisible Man being the first film. It isn't expected to be a shared universe however

and no word if they'll do Dracula, Frankenstein or The Wolfman.

:snoop:

Cruise really fukked things up.

god damnit. the fukking world they were building was gonna looking to be dope.

Avengers compound
Wasn't anything wrong with that Dracula untold movie or whatever it was called a few years back

If they were smart that would have been the starting point
It should've and they set it up perfectly with him being able to meet other monster/allies/enemies with the timejump to modern day:snoop:
