Best case scenario Jones beats Gus and DC he would clean out 205, and let's say Weidman beats Jacare, Belfort etc... I can't see any other credible opponents for them after that so I think within the next 18-24 months we'll see this fight happen. We never got Jones vs Silva or GSP vs Silva so I'm pretty certain Dana will make this fight if everything goes according to plan.

this. Jones is a HW in a youthful body, he'd kill him. He'd literally man handle him like he did Sonnen. Jones ain't a small dude, plus he's quick.

It's funny Weidman actually asked for the Jones fight to save the UFC 151 fiasco but the ufc didn't consider him enough of a name at the time, I don't think they'll make it to each other tho. Somebody is gonna lose in their next fight or two

Weidman still has to deal with Belfort, Jacare, Rockhold and Mousasi and even potential contenders in Kennedy and Romero.

I'd be more interested in Cain/Jones, the HW division is severly lacking contenders (only Werdum left) and Jones just has Gus & Cormier left to fight. This bout would garner more attention and would be more interesting/compelling than a potential Jones/Weidman match-up.

Weidman would put up a much better fight than Sonnen. I don't see him winning at all, but the fight would be relatively competitive.
