Tariq spoke on the root tonight...

Dancing on they grave:mjlol:

Did u hear the part where he was talking about how starting a succesful website takes millions?....Just Like I told u months ago concerning your plans for that Black youtube.

I also told u that your plans would fall in the category of "radical" and getting people to fund your idea would be a challenge that requires more then just hopeful wishing.

The Root used to be a stellar site with great content when Henry Louis Gates was setting the tone. But from day one, this site was never a money maker. The Washington Post funded this site almost as a charity for black people who wanted to have a voice... it had some nice traction and some thoughtful posts. My favorite one was a collection of historically black towns that were all but burned to the ground and erased from history. Over 60 small towns were showcased, giving insight to people's ancestry. That's kind of what THE ROOT was all about... getting to your roots and how it affects who you are today.

But after the sale... man... it got obnoxious, pro LGBTQ and took on that irritating sensationalism for clicks bullshyt... finding their niche in shytting on black men and running with the narrative that black women are awesome, but always victims.

The "Black Men are the White People of Black People" column was the beginning of the end. Damon Young is forever on my shyt list :pacspit: for that piece of trash he spewed out... and whoever the hell Michael Harriet is just added to the list of pettymen whose job was to create divisiveness in the black community.

Where does black content go from here though? We as a people need to think long and hard about content that is profitable and solves problems... the days of writing bullshyt that pisses people off to get clicks and views is over... people want answers and real info...

When they say Tariq really got grown ass men straight up stanning like a teenage pop idol, they wasn't lying!

But I'm a grown ass women and I subscribe to his page and listen to his commentary on Tariq Radio.... daily. sooo ummmm you shouldn't place labels.. or assumptions, that's how prejudicial viewpoints are established.
