Same here man.

Tough ass week 1 too, vs. GB at Lambeau.

A win there would do a lot for expectations, expect a barn burner.

i want that GB game more than any game this year. especially since we ain't won in Lambeau in 20+ years.

GB will be favorites, but we have the personnel on defense and now offense to pull off a road win in Lambeau.

I feel like if anything our defense doesn't stack up with their offense favorably.

They don't give a fukk about running the ball so our strength is negated by their lack of playing to it.

We just have to score with them and get to Rodgers

to win at GB, wed have to get a few breaks on defense. rodgers will be super motivated after his last game was kinda a dud for him. even when people get to rodgers he escapes from the pocket and can hurt you a lot there. we arent that great against QBs who can extend plays.

also the offense will have to be at the very least very efficient.

We need to watch to watch the Giants game, they showed us the path to victory. Maybe the Tampa Bay and Kansas City games as well.

I got a question brehs. Marcus McNeil is a free agent and why the fukk haven't we given this man a contract. If Joe Staley or Anthony Davis goes down for any reason we have nothing but raw ass rookies, that are just too young. :hamster: Also, I think we should give Plax a tryout. Also I wanna try Joey Porter too, just cuz he's a real nikka and I think would be a good depth LB.

I think McNeil would be a good depth pick up. I'm hopeful that they do bring him into camp for a look. He might be looking to compete for a starting job, though. But coming off a neck injury, I'm not sure how likely that would be for him.
As far as Porter, I don't know. We definitely need the depth at outside linebacker with both of the rookies we drafted getting hurt, but I dunno how much Porter has left. Plus, I think we want our backup LB's to play special teams, and I'm not sure that's in the cards for Porter at this point in his career. Also, he's always been outspoken and I'm not sure how that would mesh with the locker room.
Plax...Pass.

There is no doubt in my mind that the Niners can go up to Seattle and beat the Seachickens. It's true that the last half of the season the defense gelled and came together, but we'll be bringing a whole new offense with many more weapons up there. It won't be close like last year, trust me.

I feel like if anything our defense doesn't stack up with their offense favorably.

I think the biggest problem we'll have during the first game will be on the offensive side of the ball. The defensive side should be fine, even if our defense doesn't stack up with their offense favorably. At least everybody will have played together during last season and will know where each other is supposed to be, so I don't expect defensive breakdowns. I do expect, however, for the offense to be out of sync at times just because of the new pieces. However, if the defense can keep the game close, I think we will have an excellent chance to pull out the win in GB.

Some Goldson news. Looks like if a long term deal isn't reached by the deadline he'll sign the tender and report to training camp.

Goldson wants long-term security, knows he may not get it | ProFootballTalk

With all the talk about whether Drew Brees will get a long-term deal from the Saints, it’s easy to forget that 13 other franchise players have yet to get long-term deals, either.

And not every franchise player is as upset as Brees seems to be about the lack of a multi-year deal.

“I’m hoping something long-term will happen,” 49ers safety Dashon Goldson told Randy Cross and Alex Marvez of SiriusXM NFL Radio on Tuesday night, via Marvez’s double-dipping article at FOXSports.com. “I’m not taking anything personally. I look at it as a business move on [San Francisco’s] part. That’s just the business.

“If I have to play for the tag, I’ll play for the tag. But any guy would love long-term security.”

Unlike Brees, Goldson has seen another franchise player who plays his position get that security, when the Titans gave safety Michael Griffin a five-year, $35 million contract.

“I’m sure it helps,” Goldson said of the Griffin contract. “Mike Griffin is a great player. He’s a good friend of mine. I’m excited for him. He does a lot for that team and is well deserving of what he got.”

By not giving a franchise player a long-term deal with significant guaranteed money, the team keeps the injury risk on the player.

“All these one-year/one-year [contracts] is not what any player would want,” Goldson said. “We know what we put our bodies through and what we do for our teams. But it’s all good. There’s no love lost or anything like that. I just hope something will get done. If not, I’ll still be a 49er.”

But for how long? Without a long-term deal this year, it will cost the 49ers $7.44 million to keep him in 2013, a 20-percent raise over his $6.2 million deal in 2012. Come 2014, the Niners would have to give Goldson the quarterback franchise tender to keep him around.

Griffin got his money after showing up for the offseason program without a contract, which the CBA permits. Goldson opted to stay away from 49ers workouts. Though it’s unclear whether his absence has made the 49ers less inclined to give Goldson the security wants, it apparently hasn’t made it more likely.

I think some Niner fans are being (too) cautiously optimistic when it comes this year, but I actually think we'll be okay...like 12-4 okay barring any major injuries.

I think that's because of how the NFL works. We overachieved last season so it's kinda inevitable we struggle a little bit this year. The early part of the schedule ain't easy, and that can be a problem.

To be honest, I don't care about our record as long as we get to the playoffs :manny:

Yep, if we make the playoffs then it's all up in the air.

I think we learned that from the last few years. I`d love to be 14-2, but i`d love much more to be 10-6 with a ring.

its funny but the thing that got me most excited is the prospect of cox starting. I remember a fangio quote a month ago or so about how cox was looking amazing in practice and if he keeps doin it hell push for a starting spot. at the very least he should supplant brock against 4 wr sets.

I just really think a good pass-defending corner makes this defense quite more formidable :ahh: and I love defense.

I'm not surprised at all, I thought Perrish (fixed) Cox at worst would be a nickelback. The one thing the Broncos do well is draft DB's so having a young guy like that would help us this year and moving forward, we could even have someone to eventually replace Rogers down the line.

altho fletcher cox is a DT breh :heh:
perrish cox's the name

I just love how on highlights his timing and technique at defending the pass is amazing. not much of a ball-catcher but we already have playmakers on the secondary who can make catches/ints
hes prolly the best DB against a jumpball already tbh.
