Black people, what would you rather be called? It came up earlier and I just want a wider audience on the subject.

Me personally, I would rather be called black, black american etc. I don't like being called African American. I haven't been there, and none of my traceable ancestors have been there, and I have no current physical ties to Africa. So just call me black.

What are your thoughts?

I always thought African-American was the politically correct word, now I just feel awkward describing any black person as black or african-american. Seems like everyone has their own preference and either way I'm gonna offend someone
