I always wanted to know about that situation. So prior to his fight with Nigel Benn, He wasn't medically cleared to box, but decided to box anyway? Did he have previous brain trauma?

He was never the same after his fights with The Hawk. I think he was complaining of chronic headaches afterwards too. @patscorpio Do you remember more about him?

In previous fights he possibly showed signs of having some issues in hindsight.
There's a story out there where Manny said him and Tommy got into a argument/ altercation at the gym in g-mans earlier Kronk days, Tommy hit Gerald with a right hand flush and Manny said breh walked right through it/ate it like nothing. I dont even think either guy was gloved up even. G-Man was crazy lol. I dont think some shyt like that helped him long term though.

he picked up a head injury against julian jackson in the first fight..he had effects where he was getting 1000 yd stares getting tagged too hard in sparring and getting headaches ...this is why he was going to balls to the walls to knock ppl out early...the benn fight he wasnt so lucky...for that fight he also had issues with cutting weight..he had left steward before that fight..gerald used to walk around at like 200 lbs..combined with that and benn being able to weather the storm when both were beating the shyt outta each other and you get the unfortunate consequence

That shyt actually scared reading that he didn't spar for the first time until after this fight was already signed. I would've thought that would've been done way earlier to gauge where he's at before signing this fight and see if he had any bad punch resistance or if his reflexes were off when squaring up against somebody. I'm hoping this isn't just a cash out and that's why they didn't take a tuneup.
If I was dropping money I'd take the odds and go with Garcia.
