What does this have to do with Black people, though? Black children, if they're from broken homes with unstable family lives and less opportunity, are far more vulnerable to negative messaging than the average White metal fan, who's middle class and comes from a stable family background.

But that aside, White children have a range of positive images to choose from. Metal fans are a small minority- most of them listen to music that doesn't have that negative messaging in it. Unfortunately, destructive trash is the majority form of music circulating in the Black community.

Ive said this before, but this music is being aimed directly at the youth with little to no guidance and parenting at home. THOSE are the youth that are more susceptible to the messages that are being glorified by these highly influential figures. The backgrounds and upbringings of these rappers are most identified by a certain type of youth. THOSE are the youth that are being targeted to occupy a prison cell one day and to contribute to the prison industrial complex(a huge money maker btw)

Where is the accountability of the parents ? of the previous generation which didn't stay married/build companies to employ their children ?
Now you want to lay blame on the income vehicle employing other individuals legally ?

I agree with the OP. I see some of the people posting here really neglect the power of music and the influence it has over people's lives. "Through music you hypnotize people and when you get them at their weakest point you can preach into their subconscious what we want to say" Jimi Hendrix from a Time magazine article. Our subconscious in control most of the time, and if your mind is inundated with negativity, then guess what you are more likely to have a proclivity for negative shyt, especially if the mind is not fed positive imagery to counterbalance the bullshyt. Children are impressionable, they are still molding to the person they will become, so needless to say they are more susceptible to negativity, more so without a good role model in their lives. I see that shyt daily teaching kids with behavioral disorders.

Great post. I been meant to respond. You are 100% rite. I think that the affect music has PERIOD isn't given enough credit. Music can have an affect on our emotions which can affect our thoughts which ultimately can have an affect on one's actions. Constant negativity in the lyrics and even certain chords and speeds in the music can have an affect on the subconcious. The subconcious CANNOT be turned off. The only way for the subconcious to not be affected is for something to be avoided all together. Great post

No, we were together as a race. Men and women moving towards a common object for civil rights. As soon as we intergrated and women accepted housing from the white govt while white corporations weren't hiring blacks men ... The rise in crime, gang culture and broken homes shot through the roof.
