It's def my best "Set" of spidey films. But I'm about 100% sure "No Way Home" is gonna change that.

SM2 is a great action movie but kinda shytty spiderman movie. ASM1/2 are the best set of live action spiderman to me. But the holland spideys have been pretty good as well and like i said i believe No way home is about to be the best spiderman movie ever.

It was so good that they rebooted the IP and sold it to another company.

Some of yall have truly terrible takes. Reality doesnt align with your opinions.

They ain't sell shyt Lol. "leased" is the word..

Also.. Garfield and Emma Stone had the best chemistry. Tough for Zendaya and Holland to have any type of on screen chemistry.

Eh I don’t think that’s a “terrible take” or about reality or anything. Cats can feel how they feel. A dope movie doesn’t mean it’s wildly successful money wise and believe if they didn’t spend as much on amazing 2 as they did we’d be having a different convo.

By what measure do you define success? Ramis films performed better, adjusting inflation, and have better critic and fan ratings. Its cool to like Webs movies but to say they're better is objectively wrong.

I'll admit the ASM films are much better to look at, more cinematic, the best live action Spidey scenes to date. They shyt on these new films, visually tbh. But thats like praising the Sequels for being prettier than the Original Trilogy....its supposed to, cuz technology.

I go by success based whether I like it lol. I don't give a fukk about anything else when it comes to a convo about what I think is dope or not. I love Blade Runner 2049. Feel it's one of the best movies to come around in a long long long time. But the movie tanked at the box office and isn't what the studio deems a a success. A dope movie won't necessarily be a hit and a movie doesn't have to be dope to be a hit. On the other side of that, a movie that isn't critically acclaimed, RockNRolla, I fukk with heavy and is a big success in my eyes all while understanding the shyt didn't do great the box office nor is it ranted and raved about.

That's why I said what I said about the box office. It's the one metric that's objective. Thats why I said if they didn't spend as much making these movies, then we're probably having a different conversation regarding where the spider-man franchise went and where it's going.

The thing marvel did in its early years and still doing as best it can, is keeping costs relatively low. Sony went wild with the budget on both Amazing movies. The budget on the first one ballooned and the budget on the second was huge before they even started.

I find the MCU Spider-Man movies to be middle of the pack among MCU movies because they don’t have much replay value to me, but they still easily destroy both the ASM movies. I’m sorry, but them joints were trash. Garfield didn’t necessarily do bad but I could give two fukks about any of the other characters. The Raimi trilogy at least had two memorable villains and JJJ who were elite characters/portrayals. MCU had great supporting characters and villains as well as a good SM

I've watched the first two tobey spidey flicks a crazy amount of times. I've watched the TASM flicks one and a half times. The half was only to laugh at the awfulness of TASM 2. Its your opinion so it is what it is OP but those TASM flicks were awful imo. I cant even remember a notable action scene. Mostly because all that spidey did was shoot webs. Like just over and over again, shooting fukking webs. Oh but i do remember the baby web hand scene :mjlol: still one of the funniest theater experiences when that happened. Even the broads in the audience laughed at that stupid shyt :russ:

I was in high school when the first trilogy dropped. Watched both spider man 1 and 2 in theaters first week. Spider Man 1 crowd full, people was hype wheh it started. Half way through people damn near booing at the cornyness of it, people yelling “the fukk is this shyt?”. Spider Man 2 :ld: never heard anyone talk or praise it ever. And you can fact check me on this subject through search feature ive always stood by this.

ive never heard anyone like the first trilogy. In my little bubble, yes i know a small sample size, it was universally disliked among anyone I knew.

then the coli was created and Spider Man 2 is some of cinemas best work in history and Spider Man 1 was pretty good :what: we’ll have to agree to disagree i guess.

in MY eyes, the first trilogy was so bad its not even in competition to me. Its between ASM and Tom Holland version. I agree with the poster above that the 3rd film in Tom Holland saga will put it as a clear #1 spider man saga.

This was back in the early/mid 2000s man, internet was poppin like that yet, especially forums, no smartphones or social media. That was the general consensus back then :ld:

And outside of like James Cameron or something most people, especially teenagers like I was at the time, never really paid attention to who made movies. Either the movie was wack or it wasnt :ld:

i watched both movies in the theater breh. I dont remember none of that disdain from my audience. Yall were just some miserable folk. To this day a mass majority of black folk dont even fukk with comic book movies so i can see that being possible if it was a predominantly black crowd.
