Even had a good match with Ziggler, that AJ/Corbin/Ziggler triple threat is a highlight of the 16-17 SmackDown. Corbin isn’t awful, just needs a few tweaks to his character.

People compared Cena to Rock and Austin all the time despite it being two different eras so it's not going to stop just because these smark approved favorites don't have any star power. You had Cena garnering interest in his matches with guys like Lord Tensai and fukking Curtis Axle. That's the job of a star, to garner interest. Baron Corbin isn't a star, and neither is Seth Rollins despite being a member of the biggest stable since the NWO and multiple title reigns and main event pushes as a face and heel. He shouldn't be having his matches hijacked no matter who's on the other side of that ring if he's as over as you want to believe. No one, except maybe Daniel Bryan oddly enough even as a heel, has that sort of star power and that's from good will built years ago. All these guys are interchangeable and no matter who you put the belt on the ratings are going to hit new lows.
Yeah at this point, wanting your guy/girl to be champ is just a matter of personal preference, not a matter of it being best for business. In the past 6 years, The Rock, HHH, Goldberg, Brock, Bryan, AJ, Becky, Kofi etc...have all been champions in WWE, nostalgia acts and top active guys, still didn’t move the needle (well drastically), it’s gonna take more than title changes to fix this shyt.

It would be better if Corbin didn't get any reaction. Then Vince might feel the need to change him up a bit. There's a lot you can do with a guy who draws this much heat with such a minimal effort put into defining his character. Just imagine what could happen if you fleshed him out.
