@gabbo what's your take on artificial sweeteners? Admittedly those are life savers for me; I still have a crazy sweet tooth.

They're a life saver for me too :russ:

Especially this shyt

Man I don't know what the fukk y'all on where y'all can go from eating anything to eating healthy and go from never working out to 4 times a week in a blink of a eye
When you find that focus you can. I mean I can't think of a magic secret or approach to tell people how to get serious, often you just gotta hit your breaking point. for some it's health issues, others it's not feeling good about themselves, for me I got fed up with not fitting my cute clothes and heels - my esteem took a hit when I wasn't "fly" anymore so I was like "fukk that " and have been deadass focused since February.

Also, IMO diet is so much harder to control, as a black chick, most my friend's socializing is around drinking and eating (I try to get these hoes to walk or do something physical...smh)- so that's a challenge. I've also always loved working out, but that's 50-90 minutes 4-6 times a week, diet is all day everyday. You can't outwork a bad diet - seriously. Then I got snacks all at work - gotta avoid those. You just have to decide if the "I'll just have this one ...." Is worth it. You also gotta just stop being lazy and plan your meals, cook for a couple days at a time.

Imma creature of habit both good and bad .

It takes one week for me to start doing all that and I can stick to it .

It also take me the same time to fall off .

I haven't been to the gym in a fukking year .

Instead of adjusting to working at night I just haven't been .

All my progress gone .

I'm headed back soon because my schedule is suppose to be changing .

It really sucks because u look at how far you came and just like that progress all gone .

Bruh, this is my issue at the moment. I can't get my mind right.

I lost a lot of weight between 2015 and 2016, then fell off this year. Now, for whatever reason it's harder for me to say no to food when it's offered or sitting in my face. I be wondering how I was able to even do this the first time.

Maybe me hitting my highest weight was rock bottom and I didn't give myself a choice but to change. I lost that sense of urgency and now I'm relapsing :mjcry: idk

Plus it's hard not having anybody around me who is into health or fitness. Everybody I know is :flabbynsick: and telling me to eat a donut or something cause "it won't hurt, you lost enough weight already" :martin:

I had 15 lbs left to lose and now it's closer to 25-30 :disappointed:
Im in the same situation and I was getting bored at the gym, I just signed up for a boxing class and start running again since the weather is nice now. I think you need to switch it up and find new activities that keep you working on your goals

Working out I can do consistently with no problem. Its my eating that I just cant get right, no matter how hard I try.

Not even my eating, its really my sweet tooth. I can eat healthy meals all day. Eat my recommended daily servings or fruits and veggies everyday. And I'll fukk it all up with a brownie sundae and the end of the day. Even now, I had my protein shake for breakfast, and I'm having lentils and brown rice for lunch. Yet, I somehow found my way to the cookie stand at my job, and got 2 cookies. That chocolate chip tho:wow::wow:

That's what's so frustrating, how fast you can destroy progress vs how long it takes to make progress :mjcry:

Once I get a grip of my eating habits on the weekends I'll be good. It's like I'll take 2 steps forward M-F then 1.5 steps back Friday afternoon to Sunday Evening.

I've struggled with weight my whole life. I'm constantly taking 1 step forward and 2 back. These are the three things that help keep me going.

1. I connected the start of a weight loss cycle to something simple. Every time I mess up I drink a gallon of water then I go for a run when I start feeling better. Drinking that gallon gets my mind in a weightloss mode. Try an connect the start for weight loss to something easy and simple. Eat a big salad, cook yourself something healthy, Watch something fitness related. :manny: whatever it is create an anchor.

2. Always switch it up. Like they say to do with relationships. Keep it interesting, exciting. Try a new diet, start cooking, get on the rowing machine, start swimming, sign up for a class, find a new lifting routine. That has always been my way of breaking through plateaus.

3. Last one people might disagree with but give up drinking. I'm sure there's people that get by fine but personally it's been my biggest obstacle so far. I'm trying to get help for it.

I have a horrible sweet tooth too. For me I learned I just have to flat out quit them cold turkey. I'm in the middle of this now but anytime I get serious about losing weight I plan out a two week process, I know ahead of time it's going to be torture but with the two week plan I at least have an endpoint to the misery. During that time the cravings are ridiculous. But I've found that after going that long without my cravings all but die off for sweets. Plus I know one cheat day for me and all of a sudden I just want more and more sweets.

I've found for myself that I also eat way healthier when I'm working out. Anytime I have the craving I think about the soreness I'm feeling from my workout and it makes me say fukk that I'm not going to undo all the hard work I just did in the gym.

As far as OP the key is just developing a routine. It's hard to get started at first for me and I'll do 3-4 days a week. Then after that I just start getting more energy and that'll cause me to start wanting to go more. I'll go from being lazy and wanting to sit around watching TV or a game to needing to do something with the extra energy and needing to hit the gym. After a couple weeks of solid gym time and eating right I'll have so much energy I start going twice a day.

Last November hit my short term goal seeing huge progress and then a couple weeks away due to travel for work and personal and those habits were all broken.

Big part of it is just making individual decisions and not setting yourself up for failure. If your job has constant treats and shyt out.... you gotta just make that choice every day not to indulge. If you go out and eat a lot of shyt after drinking.... might have to stay in. Etc. Have to make it easy for yourself and take it one meal/day at a time.

Truthfully I've been able to drop 2-3lb a week while still staying mostly sane and having occasional indulgences. But I have the big shyt covered. I barely drink; I prepare most of my meals; I have a pretty consistent weekly diet. Once you build the foundation and hone your decision making process in you should be good,.
Yep we live in a world that encourages fatassness. Hell I get looked at funny when I ask for water at a restaurant.
