:snoop: In my family it is 5 of children everyone of us attended an HBCU.

Out of 5 children 3 of us own a separate business Outright. :francis: Together we all own a joint business. You don't know what you are talking about. Everyone of us attended an HBCU breh give it up. That school made a man out of me, I learned to stand on my own there. Whether it was intentional or not...the environment helped cultivate that in us.

Again, the business sense you have is most likely instilled through family and not your school. I have investments, mutual funds and other financial shyt in my portfolio that my parents helped establish. I learned about the benefits of black ownership from them and other people, none of which were associate with my my school.

I agree with both @iLLaV3 and @Doobie Doo

doobie is right in everything hes saying...

but no matter what its better to be around your own.

I went to great schools......... I missed out on going to a hbcu, I regret it.

He is right about how the schools were founded, that the curriculum is no different, some of them are ran horribly (because of lack of funds), & they do not teach you to own your own business but it does NOT negate the fact that, the experience you get around your own people is a huge blessing in life.

I mean we always talk about academics & intelligence being enforced in the black community. (This is teenage life now) These are schools that actually want black students to do well & promote an environment for that. Breh in the Sub we use to have debates with girls about Black Men vs Black Women at lunch time. The sexual tension :wow: At night in the dorm we stayed up all night (similar to The Coli) debating Hip Hop & Politics. :gladbron: If you marched in the band, you played YOUR MUSIC for the fans, & studied 'white' music in 'the off season'. :wow:
The frats you learn about what your ancestors went through to trail blaze for you. :to: You can't beat that breh. :what:
Anytime I had a problem, my Dean's were most likely black, President Black, register office Black, classmates Black, study groups Black. The parties... girls all flavors black :noah:

cause that's what it boils down to in the end.

:camby: MLK went & graduated from an HBCU
and what do you think Predominately White institutions are?
I don't believe that.
Does just associating with white people or wanting to go to school that might have a white majority or a decent sized number of white people equate to white acceptance immediately to you even if that doesn't even factor into the black persons mind?
What makes something count as pining for white acceptance?

no it doesn't, I actually don't mind black people getting post Grads from PWI's. I think that's appropriate. I just think HBCUs should be the 1st choice for undergrad for most blacks. The foundation you get, coupled with that sense of self worth is needed in our culture.

Nah I don't need to goto a hbcu to get a sense of self worth and or foundation. Sometimes I read stuff on here and feel like I was raised completely different than dudes to hear some if the stuff I hear. Its cool in the grand scheme even if I disagree with a lot of cats on here ways of thinking cause we all want the same outcome. The ways to get there though have me like shyt some of y'all's way is straight wtf status.

maybe you were, I'm not speaking from a personal standpoint but a race stand point. Lets not act as if media & stereotypes don't play on the mind of us & our kids. over time the images & sound works on you. My college experience worked somewhat as an insulator against all of that
