Don't know if anyone is still watching after that ugly first half, but Josh McCown is killing it. JJAW is a fukking stud, too. Penalties are still an issue, though.

Yea..Josh did a good job , especially considering he just rolled outta bed and is playing in a game.

JJ is legit, the only issue I see is, he is used to being the go to guy, i think he has issues acclamating to the offense when he isnt the main guy

Alshon's getting traded/cut after this season for cap relief :mjcry: writing was on the wall as soon as JJ was drafted :mjcry:

:whoo:

Is it just me but he doesn't remind me of Alshon, its somebody else that I cant put my finger on right now:patrice:.

Maybe a more polished young Dez Bryant

Catching up on the highlights

Man JJAW had a breakout game

Clement looks healthy again

McCown had a bad start, but considering he's been with the team less than a week. Breh killed it in the 2nd half

Dez couldn't spell route much less run one. JJ already has more nuance to route running than Dez did (which is sad- Dez relied on physicality to win which is fine until either you get old or hurt and you cant win that way as much anymore) Now time will tell if JJ has the kind of success Dez had early in his career- the problem is JJ has alot of talent to battle for the football. I actually do see alot of Alshon in his game, except JJ "seems" more physical - that may have more to do with his build than how to uses leverage to win at the catch point or create an inch of separation

yea dez was a big athlete .. alshon will give you routes and moss your ass. jj gotta prove if he physical as alshon . in college he did his thing il say that.

alshon was a str8 monster in college the SEC has real defense alshon used to dog out lil DBs. even now they better tackle alshon before he pulls the ball in or he gonna bully most corners . even trying pressing him its over. that's why I like what Doug did with Andy system . I remember having all these wepons but teams would press us and nobody could beat press. same thing with running backs McCoy , Westbrook yeah they was nice but Doug came with that power . Andy offense was at its best when we had duce Staley.

naw dez was fast he could return punts , run bubble screens , reverses all that . if he could get on alshon level that would be nice .

Nah, Dez wasnt that fast. He was a physical runner

His 40 time was 4.52 and JJs unofficial one was 4.53. Alshon was 4.48

They have similar straight line speed. Similar body type and similar playing style of high pointing the ball and running with ferocity after the catch.

I think Alshon a different beast, he is not as athletically gifted but he knows route concepts and running routes and leveraging a defender. I dont think there is anyone better in the league doing it other than people like AB and OBJ

Hell maybe JJ is a hybrid of Dez and Alshon but like NYSTATE said below, he is way more physical than Alshon was but is a better route runner than Dez was at their age. Either way its gonna be hard for him not to see playing time this year because with that style and skill set, he can play the slot too.

I did say a "more polished" young Dez for that route running reason:yeshrug:.

Completely agree with u about the physicality part of it. It's not completely Alshon (to think about it, Alshon and Dez are similar too with high pointing the ball and using leverage)

But JJ has a similar body type to Dez (both 6 foot 2 and 220 plus pounds). And is just as athletic and he knows the route tree better than Dez did coming in. I think sky is the limit for him if he stays healthy.

Yo. I cant wait for the season to start:banderas:.

But our success, really all starts with Wentz tho.

We just need Wentz to play point guard for 16 games spreading the ball and stay away from unnecessary hits. If he does that, We can really make noise this year.

I hope he and Doug studied up on wat made Foles so successful and translate it to Wentz this year finally.

I was thinking JJ was more like a shorter Jimmy Graham. The NO version :hubie:.
He attacks the ball in the air, has good catch range and he's good at using his physicality to positioning himself so the QB can make an easier throw.

:patrice: I dont know how to feel about this.

Wouldn't make any sense to trade Alshon now right before the start of a season with Super Bowl aspirations, but like I said Thursday night, I'd put the odds of him getting traded/cut after this season at 75%.

Either move would free up a chunk of cap space and drafting JJ was definitely done with life after Alshon in mind (like Dillard and Peters). It sucks to see SB heroes leave but that's just the reality of roster building when foundational pieces like Wentz & Cox are making top 5 money at their positions.
