Certainly a surprise in the 2nd Round that the Eagles didn’t draft a McLeod replacement with CGJ and Adderley still on the board at #57. But with Jenkins, McLeod, and Sendejo, we should still field a competitive group next year.
Definitely didn’t expect Miles Sanders at #53. I know they were interested in him, but Eagles haven’t taken a 2nd round RB since LeSean McCoy in 2009. I’m not mad at the pick. Sanders runs well and can catch out of the backfield, which makes him a good compliment to Howard in the RBBC. I’m a little concerned about his issues in pass protection and with fumbling, though. Probably would’ve preferred Darrell Henderson, but Sanders should be good.
Eagles taking a WR didn’t surprise me, but I’d have thought they’d go for someone like Campbell. Maybe even Metcalf or Hakeem Butler. That said, I have no idea who JJ Arcega-Whiteside is. By the look of it, he seems more comparable to Alshon. If he turns out anywhere near as good, then I don’t have a problem.
With no trade back option, I’m not sure how the Eagles get back into the 3rd Round so I’m just going to assume they’ll miss out on it. Still hoping they make a move to get some more capital back, though.
