I am not crazy about it...we drafted a guy who wont play every down in the first round- plus I wanted a tackle guard type

not really- he is purely a tackle...as you can see from the draft coverage...he is raw in the run game so...eh...I much rather Ford or Risner
Mailata's a cool story, but you can't let a shot in the dark like him stop you from acquiring a bonafide 1st round successor that you have conviction in.not mad at it at all... a 4th is a bit much though. maybe we overestimated how high they were on mailata for the future?

People really aren't happy about this pick? Andre Dillard is the consensus best pass protector in the draft and probably the best LT. Getting him at #22 was a great move. I certainly never expected him to fall that far.
I get that Guard is a more pressing need in the short-term because Brooks. But there are still options. Ford isn't gone yet. There are other Guards in the 2nd round the Eagles could draft. They could always re-sign Wisniewski like they did Jernigan. Brandon Brooks will be back eventually.
I was less concerned about the Guard position than I was with getting a replacement for JP.
I was a little bit worried about giving up draft assets to move up, but a 4th and 6th aren't too bad. 6th-rounders rarely pan out anyway.

The OG got Wiz demoted because they didn't mesh together, he sure as hell ain't moving to guard in his last season so a kid can start at LT
