We gotta talk about falsely accused rape cases and the media

I'm NOT condoning rape and I know legit cases often go unreported

...but goddamn.

have ya'll been hearing about all these false rape cases in the last few years?

The media will APTLY release the ACCUSED person's NAME AND PICTURE, BEFORE the conviction, not much later than simply being charged and drag your ENTIRE history down before you have a chance to defend yourself.

I heard of a case at Morehouse where the boys were charged with a case and had their names and pics ALL out there but the case came back and DNA cleared all four of them.

I don't know what it is, but there MUST be something to be said about how easy it is for your life to be ruined before a trial is even held, much less a conviction.

we report what the police gives us and attribute it as such.

we use "allegedly" and "accused" and "according to police"

we also report the story and outcome of the case when a person is freed

we would be sued out the ass if it were the other way around so dont go blaming us

Good thread OP thus shyt is especially true in the military nowadays .. If you even get ACCUSED of rape your done... Your getting the process started for discharge and federal charges preferred against you.. That shyt is scary.. A chick that just doesn't like you can RUIN. Your life with an accusation.
