Idk much about the deal as the deal happened a while back. They’ve been building it for the past year or two. I think China is building or helping with the airport in Addis Ababa also because I noticed the signs when I passed through.

Well if they were able to do it themselves they wouldn’t need the Chinese to aid them to build the infrastructure. And do they have the money to build their own infrastructure? Africa’s biggest problem is they can’t even control their own domestic security or economy. They do not have the money and technology to develop that is the issue. This is the legacy of colonialism. China has done more development in Africa than what the US and EU has done for Africa in 200 years. So with that they are the better option if you want to lift Africa from a ore industrial society to a developing continent. Thing is Africa has very little leverage.

You will never ween yourself off the G7 nations, IMF, World Bank, World Development Bank, non-African hegemony and etc if you don’t stop sucking off its tit.

African nations will never prosper if it allows its resources to be pillaged for pennies on the dollar. You can’t give a person the milk for free or a discounted rate and then turn around and tell them they have to buy the cow. African nations have to unite and force these non-African nations to come to the tables as equals and not this paternalistic nature we have now.

African nations need to address the world knowing they are the ones that have the gold that others seek and they need to set the terms of any trade deals. They don’t need to run and chase subjugation loans when they have the most valuable resources on the planet. I’m not gonna take a $50 Million loan for you to come take my copper...you’re gonna give me 50 million and I’m gonna give you 50 million dollars worth of Copper at market rate and we gon call it a day. That’s how the relationship needs to be and I feel that it’ll never happen if we keep taking subjugation loan.

china is every bit a 'colonizer' as europeans. They just know how to use the velvet glove approach to contrast themselves to the more brutal Americans and Europeans and hence meet less resistance for their colonization objectives. Once they get power, they will arguably be worse. Look at how they treat their own people for an example... so what do you think they will do to another race?
