Tbh i didnt read the whole thing either. I got what you were saying pretty early on. ...and youre right. The only black wrestler on par for the big push is Jade. Problem is, shes got a ways to go. Smart Mark Sterling isnt a good fit for her. She should be with Lio if anyone right now.

Here is where I think the disconnect comes from though. With WWE they have a history of depushing, disparaging and demeaning black wrestlers. AEW just havent pushed any yet. Tbh they seemed to just finished their phase 1 storylines with the elite. Now that thats done, lets see what they do. Heel Bryan is a good first move.

The Lio/Dante story looks like its going to be a long term deal leading to Lio turning. Ill see what happens there. Lee Moriarty just got there. Hes gonna do fine and got signed quicker than most on Dark.

It all comes down to how you view who the lesser of two evils is I guess. One company has a history of blatantly demeaning black talent but also seem to suddenly see the value in the black dollar and the good PR that comes with showcasing a black talent at the top to the point where they at least know to push 1 or 2 black people at a time(even if it usually ends in them getting their wings clipped).

The other company has a target market whose vast majority is middle aged dweeb white men so there isn't a need for them to pander to a black audience because they're doing fine without them and the black wrestlers they do get have to be twice as good for half as much and most of the time don't connect with their crowd anyways(). They have the likes of Lee Moriarty, Darius Lockhart, and Trish Adora all whom are highly regarded as the top black independent wrestlers out there and they're "paying dues" on Dark to lowcarders.

Black people in WWE at least have the opportunity to be presented as main eventers even if theres a glass ceiling and a bullshyt ending which is an issue in itself... but strictly compared to AEW who has 0 black stars at the top to even have the chance to main event a PPV/hold a world title to even be screwed out of it's not close. Ask Kiera Hogan or Big Swole would they rather be losing to Becky Lynch/Charlotte in world title matches while consistently featured on TV weekly as Survivor Series captains or being "lost in the shuffle"(Kiera's words) stuck on AEW Dark. Beside's lets not act like Britt Baker isn't basically their Charlotte/Becky. Ask Will Hobbs would he rather be losing to Roman Reigns in the Survivor Series main event or losing to Orange Cassidy in round 2 of a tournament right after playing a clip of his first embarrassing encounter with him.
