At this point it’s clear that the Yankees have Cole and that’s it.

Severino can’t go a week without getting hurt. Montgomery got traded to STL. How long until Montas is a FA?

They need pitching. And they don’t have any immediate help in the minors.
i assume you're a yanks fan, why are they being so cheap with judge?

This isn’t George Steinbrenner. They’re probably concerned with being profitable and less with winning.

Also, there are valid concerns about extending Judge to a super long deal given that he’s already 30.

A big guy like that with long arms. It doesn’t take much loss of bat speed before he could end up like Tony Clark…who was also a Yankee once.

I have long thought Stanton is just valuable to the Yankee lineup than Judge. His presence last night changed everything

At least teams that play for Cohen don't have to beg for ice cream machines.

So on ESPN there's a story that the Oakland Athletics are the team most likely to sign Cuban pitching prospect Luis Morales.

Link here: Source: Cuban pitcher, 19, may get record bonus

I always wondered why larger market teams didn't dominate this international pool of players and it turns out that teams are capped at how much they can spend.

From MLB.com: International Amateur Free Agency & Bonus Pool Money | Glossary | MLB.com

Under the terms of the 2022-26 Collective Bargaining Agreement, the current international amateur talent system will continue for the 2021-22 and 2022-23 signing periods.

As per the existing rules established in the 2017-21 Collective Bargaining Agreement, clubs are each subject to a spending cap for amateur international free agents. Each club will have at least a $4.75 million bonus pool to spend, with those that have a pick in Competitive Balance Round A receiving $5.25 million and those with a pick in Competitive Balance Round B receiving $5.75 million.

That's just the first two paragraphs. It goes on to fit the entire page so it's a bit of a complicated read. Teams can have much more than 5 million dollars. But there you go.
