why dont pitchers have durability anymore? So many player like Sale, deGrom, Strasbourg etc that break down so quickly
They’re asked to do stuff the human body isn’t supposed to do with the velocity they use at the age they are. On top of that, we’ve conditioned players to throw instead of pitch, so instead of pacing themselves, they empty out the clip to get the best stuff.

If Soto doesn't get traded, I don't see the Cards or Padres moving too many of their big prospects and some players that got drafted this year probably gonna be included in the deal that happens after the World Series.

If you’re gonna make the trade, you might as well get him for the 2022 run too

Nats should be able to get more teams in the running in the winter. An organization that's not in the mix right now could sign one of the big FAs then feel better about making a splash for Soto.

At least, that's how I look at it.

If Judge walks, Soto will absolutely be a Yankee, because that's the only way Judge can walk and the fanbase doesn't revolt.

You'd have to accept the price being higher. All up to the Nats. Maybe the desperation would make the package too good to not do.

I could see the Nats wanting to do it in the winter cuz there'd be more teams in play and maybe other teams would feel more comfortable making the deal with prospects they just drafted included cuz that value is way more subjective which would help a team keep somebody they know while potentially making packages with way more upside. Riskier but even higher rewards.
