Here's the inherent issue with acquiring Soto (and why I'd do it anyway): nobody is convinced that the team will spend the money to keep both Soto and Judge, especially when now we'll have this glaring hole at SS where we passed up every possible free agent there because we're waiting on Volpe. Now, I'm super bullish on Volpe and the Martian, but I'd trade them both for Soto, but I'm also in the extreme minority where I wouldn't be comfortable paying Judge 10/$360.

The names you mentioned are what the Yankees are lacking in comparison to some of these other teams. Atlanta got a homegrown core. The Mets even still have deGrom/Alonso/McNeil/Nimmo. The Dodgers have their guys they brought up, Astros too. The Yankees are reduced to just Judge and he's 30. If they can't assemble a group of players from their own system to build around, they're gonna have to spend an obscene amount of money to put out a competitive product and management has proven too many times they won't do it even though they can, so it's quite likely if Soto's a Yankee it'll just be him, Lemahieu and Aaron Hicks for the next 12 years together with Cole locked up too.
I'm with you on Judge. I think they're nuts if they give him 10/$360. I understand your thinking with the Yankees and money. Very similar to my Lakers.

Can someone explain to me how literally every year the Yankees and Dodgers sign one of the top international prospects?

Aren’t there supposed to be rules put in place to where if you spend a certain amount of money in a year on international prospects that you can’t spend big for the next year or two?

????
There are elite international players all over the league..who are you referring to?

Idk about the Doyers and Yankees but the Braves old GM from a few years ago received a lifetime ban for doing shady stuff to sign international players

Wonder where my dog willy gonna end up in the next 10 days :mjcry:, hopefully the padres if the cubs can get hassell III(doubtful but hoping they can)for Contreras :ohlawd:

Even though he’s fell off cubs can take snell off the padres hands to give ‘em room to stay under cbt. He only has one year left on on his contract & the cubs could use proven starting pitching

It was a sonning, ngl :francis:
Mariners fans brought it on themselves with a sell out crowd showing up to talk that shyt :skip:
I’ll be honest, the 14 game win streak had me raise an eyebrow and a split or M’s series win would’ve def given them momentum and raised concerns for my Astros, but then we dominated the fk out of that series, the scores were never close as the final tally since we were letting young guys get some innings (and we left Framber in too long).

The Orioles moving the left field wall back to spite visiting teams was embarrassing shyt.
I went to that ball park with a summer camp group maybe a year or two after it opened, at the time it was state of the art with a focus on the game.
I don't know how they approved moving that wall back like it would have any impact on wins/losses.

They are only one game under .500 and have a 26-19 record at home :mjpls:
