It's the biggest issue. Bregman looking good again but Yuli just keeps regressing. He's the weakest out of all the pieces and having him replaced with a decent hitter will do big tings
I think they'd have to give up too many key pieces in the current lineup (probably Tucker and Pena) but it would be wild if they tried for Soto. Him and Alvarez in the same lineup would be like Manny and Ortiz all over again. They could afford to pay him too since Alvarez is on such a bargain contract.

I don't know what Houston's prospect situation is like but if they could do it for just Tucker and a bunch of high level prospects while keeping Pena, they'd have to pull the trigger. Probably have to give up one of Garcia or Javier as well.

Astros need RP and either an OF bat or 1st baseman. Yuli is showing his age and no time table to Brantley.

We need another arm behind Pressly. Dusty fell in love with Neris but he’s shaky as fuk. Pressly/Stanek/Montero only guys I trust in our pen.

Astros would give up Tucker/Javier or Urquidy/ Hunter Brown/Pedro Leon/Joe Perez.
Anyone trading for Soto Is going to pay a hefty price

Yankees winning the al pennant imo

It should be a great alcs(vs Houston)& I legit think the Astros have a shot but history & that pitching says it’s their year
I just can't see it due to La Machete. He can just call the game incredibly and we can match pitching and hitting, plus our history against them over the past 6-7 years says we got them, unless injuries derail us. The NL is our kryptonite though

They'd have to do it if that was on the table as a possibility for them. Houston has drafted and developed incredibly well over the past decade. If you have Alvarez and Soto in the lineup, you already have a rock solid foundation for the next decade. Just need to put complimentary pieces around them.

Could sandwich them around Bregman and that'd help him out a ton.

Washington should wait until their ownership situation is resolved before trading Soto. Just for the sake of competitive balance. He is under team control for another two seasons, a fire sale devalues the sale price. Let the new owner make a decision on Soto.

They develop pitching better than most. Hunter Brown is a guy I would hate to lose. He’s MLB ready and a mini Verlander. He has some control issues but has over powering stuff.

Alex Santos is another pitcher I can see getting moved. Young high upside

I get what you are saying but at the same time, people think this must be done before the new owners come cuz they don't want to be known instantly by their fan base as the new owners who traded away a generational talent.

Seems Astros have the Yanks number.
If Pressley didn't fall apart horribly that first game, we would have taken all but 1 and possibly if he had won that, he might have been allowed to pitch that other walk-off game and possibly have been a full sweep like the Mets.
