Today Sports Dissected is welcomed to Austin, Texas by Assistant AD of Sports Dietitian & Clinical Wellness, Amy Culp, for a tour of the TANC (Texas Athletic Nutrition Center). UT renovated the TANC in 2015 during a time of significant change in the NCAA feeding guidelines that allowed schools to provide unlimited snacks as well as meals incidental to a student-athlete’s participation in athletics. “Every athlete - no matter the sport - gets the same level of care here at the TANC,” Culp says.

Sports Dissected brings you a look at sports from the inside out.

Skill positions sounds like they're going to be good. But when I read IT's reports, I don't get the sense that the oline and defense are going to be worth a damn.

I feel like UT should be pursuing 2 edge players in the transfer portal instead of just Mathis. At 1 point, UT was hoping to get both Mathis & Drew Sanders. So it don't makes sense why UT is content right now with just getting Mathis. UT needs to grab a Left OT if 1 become available. UT is gonna have a lot of options at Guard in the fall, but not enough OTs.

Drew Sanders wanted to play LB, he wasn't going to come here to play the edge. Also I do not think there was another edge player in the portal that was worth pursuing, please remember we took like 4 edge players in the portal last year. If anything UT should have been trying to get Byron Vaughns to transfer back into the program. I think the OL will look a lot better than last year with a better QB, and I think they'll be good enough to win most games. DL I am not so sure about, the talent is there but it just hasn't shown up on the field yet. Plenty of good young talent coming in though, but most of them will need a year or 2.

Drew Sanders was starting at Edge for Bama early in this past 2021 season before he got hurt. UT was definitely pursuing him as an Edge player. We didn't even find out that he wasn't interested in playing Edge & wanted to play LB instead until after he committed to Arky.

The staff knew he had no interest in playing edge.

If true, none of the UT recruiting sites reported it until after he committed to Arky.

UT recruiting sites are continually making shyt up as they go. They don't really have any real solid sources within the program anymore. A lot of the guys feeding them information were let go when Herman was fired. Their recruiting info is a mix of information from current recruits, family of recruits and/or their coaches, none of which are really reliable, and their practice reports are from high school coaches they know were in attendance, who are giving their own slanted view on what they saw.

Brehs is IKE (Eisenhower High School) considered a rough school? @Numpsay @Houston911

On OB they talking about the new assistants emphasizing getting kids from these tough neighborhoods . I like how the last three commits kinda represent that.

It’s where the kids from acres home go to school

@dtownreppin214 Do you consider OB to be the deepest UT forum with the most insider posters?
