If Texas has success on the ground, they will likely have a great game. The defensive line must get to Rattler as he will give you some in the game. But he is also good enough to pick you apart. Tackling must be the number one priority. I can’t stress that enough. That’s been an issue the last four years.

:francis: Did you see what happened when UT rushed only 4 against TCU? UT getting no pressure whatsoever on TCU. We don't have a go-to passrusher on defense. That is definitely gonna cost us games this season.

Not sure if y'all have watched OU games this season but teams have taken the rush 3 drop 8 approach to slowing down the OU offense and forcing Rattler into mistakes. I expect us to do the same with some timely blitzes mixed in.

On offense the OL needs to be able to handle the stunts from the OU DL and Christian Jones has to hold up in pass protection at LT. I expect OU to mainly sell out on perceived run downs and drop the LBs in shallow coverage on passing downs. Casey needs to connect with the WRs down the field and also use his legs more when nothing is there. I think we should win this one.

Supposedly PK has not implemented his whole scheme/playbook yet. I think we’ll see new pressure schemes on Saturday.

He doesn't have the players to run the scheme he'd like which is why our defense is basically in bend but don't break mode all game. Looks ugly but it's been effective. If the offense is doing what it's supposed to we only need the defense to get a few stops a game. This group isn't going to ever look like Georgia out there.

Are you saying Jett Bush isn’t talented?

I cringe anytime he’s on the field.
We seem to rotate a ton of guys on defense but Bush should not be out there unless it's garbage time. Dude has a motor and is a good practice guy and I guess they want to reward him with snaps but c'mon. I smh every time I see him out there. Dude is like a poor man's Brecklyn Hager.

I wouldn't say UT is going to win but this is the most confident I've been in a long time.

Honestly, I've never seen so many sooner fans on Rivals message board saying we're going to lose. I myself have zero confidence that UNLESS we come out looking like a completely different team than we have the first 4-5 games, I don't see how we win. Other than 1 cupcake game, every team we've beaten has given us a gift at the towards the end of the game for us to squeak by

Last few games we've been setting record lows for OU offenses, defensively we have a few key guys hurt. Our Dline is dope tho at times.

I'm not worried about Bijan(tho he is awesome) as much as I am C. Thompson. We literally could not get to Skylar Thompson much last Saturday. Casey Thompson could have a field day.

Rattler has regressed somewhat and our WR cannot get open. But much of both of thosr issues are our porous Oline play so far.

I watched RJ Youngs season previews and every one of those texas kids he interviewed, I think Coburne? especially said their main goal was beating OU this season. Our players lack visible passion so far this year.

If yall score first on opening drive Riley will abandon the run and start throwing.

Texas Homer just dropped his latest documentary-style video previewing the RRS:

Time to head to Dallas for the Red River Showdown against the Oklahoma Sooners. Time to scout their team and see what to watch out for...

So did any of y'all compare UT's first 2 games & Auburn's first 2 games and wished we had hired Bryan Harsin as head coach instead of Sark? I definitely did & will be keeping up with Harsin at Auburn.

No bueno regarding Harsin.

Why? The only issue with Harsin is he isn't a proven big time recruiter like Sark proved himself at USC.

:whew: Now I can feel better about UT not hiring Harsin.

I rewatched the following clip several times earlier this week & was questioning do we have good enough go-to skill players to execute Sark's offense:

Maybe I was wrong? We definitely have it with Bijan. And the way Worthy is being set-up for plays & mismatches, clearly Sark feels that way about Worthy too. We all still waiting for Jordan Whittington to live up to expectations we had for him coming out of high school.

IMO you are wrong. Worthy, JWhitt, Bijan, and KRob(who I think they are intentionally holding back) are good enough athletes to work in this system for it to thrive. I think it’ll start showing more now that we have a decisive QB in Casey. Offense hasn’t really had to get into their bag yet. Big test on the road next week against a beatable TCU team.
