Its used to be like that but now with guys like Harbaugh and Urban Meyer turning around programs in one year or so expectations have changed.. plus Texas thinks their the cream of the crop so :yeshrug:
It really changed in 2000. Stoops came in and won in his 2nd year. Tressel did it again in 2002. The wait until the program is built thing pretty died during this era.

Do any of y'all have access to the SSS on Shaggy? I know some of the dudes on Shaggy know the reason Holton Hill is in the doghouse, so i'm sure they've discussed it there.

He failed a drug test over the summer. So he is on some sort of probation. Don't spread this shyt.

I just don't buy into the Texas can get who they want stuff. As I've always said, we aren't a football school. We're a big school that wants to be thought of as a football school but doesn't have the you know what's to be a real football school. If we don't luck out on Mack Brown, would this even be considered a prime job?

Don't get me started on the bolded. They dolt dikk Baddour let Mack walk to Austin without even trying to match after he had led UNC to top rankings in the polls. :martin:

Mack wasn't even the first choice. Gary Barnett was. Think about how close that is to Texas fading into bolivian. I say Texas isn't a football school because our stats have been achieved over a long time. We've simply not had the consistent or recent success of other top programs. When I got to UT, UT had been mediocre for like 15 years. Basically our history is mediocre and two great coaches. When the rest of the SWC was cheating their asses off trying to win, Texas just languished trying to be morally above everyone.

Oh shyt. This might be it for Strong.

Texas AD Mike Perrin: 'We need to evaluate' loss to Oklahoma State

Texas AD to evaluate 'all facets' after OSU loss

Strong won't be fired midseason, that'd be a disaster of epic proportions but he should be put on notice. Looking at the rest of our schedule we should win every single one of those games, just like we should have won the last two. I'd tell him you at least have to go 8-4 with a bowl win at this point.

They won't fire him this season. But I think the decision has been made, 8 wins or he's gone.

I think Les Miles changes everything. They simply can't be beat out for Herman if they think that's the guy and they need to act with urgency. Not going to have the time for the usual UT coaching hire BS.

The Vahe postgame comments are concerning.

Q: What’s the confidence level in the staff with you guys right now?

A: Hmm? (Vahe seemingly didn't understand or hear the question)

Q: The confidence level in this staff with you guys?

A: Can’t answer that question. I really don’t know. I’m just trying to go on with the week.

Q: You can’t answer where the confidence level with this staff is? You can’t answer that?

A: Coaches are just going to be coaches, and that’s all we’re going to ask them to do, just coach.
